  • Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

Hey everyone, I was prescribed sertraline today and am wanting to hear others' experiences on this medication. I'll be taking my first dose tomorrow, as I'm currently switching over from fluvoxamine. Thanks!

it was okay for the 2 years I was on them but I just felt very flat. they absolutely dulled my PTSD symptoms tho which gave me great relief and completely got rid of my anxiety. which was an odd feeling for me as I'm always rather anxious.

My experience with sertraline has been good. While other meds made nothing for me and gave me some uncomfortable side effects, sertraline helps by stabilizing my mood and making me less likely to fall into extreme sadness, with no side effects except making it longer to reach an orgasm. However I feel like it's not enough, I still am in a lot of pain, but it helps.

remember it takes a few weeks to build up in your system. overall i found it helpful as an anti-depressant though like all meds, some work better than others depending on the person.

It ruined my libido, couldn't get turned on to begin with. Also gave some side effects like weight increase and just feeling numb towards everything. I wouldn't say it worked as I don't think feeling nothing is better than feeling sad. I'd rather feel something than nothing at all

I was taking low-dose Adderall for ADD and working in a toxic work environment which exacerbated my anxiety and depression. I was prescribed sertraline and the first few months were amazing. I could think again and unpleasant thoughts and stimulus could be shrugged off like they could be before taking Adderall and entering the workforce - they weren't 'sticky'.

After a few months it became my new normal and it has been working well for 5 years now. I now struggle with anhedonia and flat affect but I'm not sure how much of that is stress from work, Adderall, etc. I think without the sertraline it would be worse but I also think there may be better options out there.

I hear coming off sert is pretty bad. Sometimes I miss a couple of days by acccident and have fairly bad brain zaps and almost painful sensitivity to sensory stimuli, which makes me believe what I hear.

I mitigate the anhedonia and depressive symptoms with occasional LSD microdosing. It works pretty well for me.

I've been on that, did absolutely nothing for me. Might work for you, remember to take it for at least 3 to 4 weeks first before asking the doctors to change it.

I was given them for a while, until switched to another.

In terms of negative side affects it just made me really thirsty/dry mouth.

For the effects it numbed by emotions I suppose, haven't self harmed much since, and cry less etc. That said ironically it did nothing for the actual depression, if anything feels like I'm more consistently depressed as have less of the manic like upswings.
