Final peace, hug me tight, carry me away
Sweet release, angel of light, bless me today
Lift me from the darkness upon silvered wings
Angel of death, I shed my remnant misgivings
One of two names, difference I cannot define
At this end, I shall bear witness to your design
I'm proud of it, it's going in my note
Sweet release, angel of light, bless me today
Lift me from the darkness upon silvered wings
Angel of death, I shed my remnant misgivings
One of two names, difference I cannot define
At this end, I shall bear witness to your design
In this poem, death is referenced as a blessing, peace, release and embraced as a saviour. Thus "Angel of Light" and "Angel of Death" are two names for the same entity. The final line is addressed to the creator/ god.
I'm proud of it, it's going in my note
