I have thought about killing myself for a long time.

I have saved some threads on here on how to kill myself and I have also thought of killing myself when my parents aren't in the house.

But, last night before I went to sleep, I was considering using one of those assisted dying programs in Europe. I figured it would be a painless death if I used that program.

However, logistically, it wouldn't be easy for me to go to Europe without my parents.

So, I was wondering if I should tell my dad how I feel, so he would agree to let me go to Europe and die (I don't want to tell my mom. She honestly isn't a great parent, so I don't feel comfortable telling her how I feel. I am actually afraid of her).

But, I am not sure my dad will be receptive.

What should I do?

It really is an individual choice whether you want to or are comfortable to notify the people around you before you go. There are some risks to notifying people, such as unwanted intervention against your will or additional burdens. As for assisted dying programs, it will be very difficult to get approved (others can also attest to this) since unless you have a severe or terminal condition (even then it's still not easy) as well as a lot of hoops to jump through before you would even be considered eligible to get such services.

I did not know people had difficulty in getting approved for assisted dying in Europe. I am most likely not going to tell my dad, since assisted dying doesn't seem like it would be in the cards for me (I have two mental health conditions, but no severe or terminal condition) and I don't want to worry my dad unnecessarily unless I know for a fact I would be eligible.

Assisted suicide or euthanasia is a really really hard and expensive thing
