• Hey Guest,

An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.

Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.

Should I post a goodbye on Facebook? Part of me wonders if I should make a goodbye post. I don't want to burden my family with having to notify everyone. Is it cruel though to find out your friend died through Facebook ? Would you rather find out through a phone call?

I can be pretty callous so I'm hoping for advice from some of you kind souls

I'd suggest not writing a goodbye post on Facebook unless you want to a failed ctb attempt. Use a delayed email or write a note.

Not a good idea at all, DON'T DO IT! If loved ones or people who see it doesn't tip off the authorities, then what @stellabelle said, it's privacy-invasive algorithms will and it only gets worse. Never ever post anything sensitive or even potentially damaging on social media. It can (and often will) come back and ruin your plans to ctb.

Think of the Internet especially social media sites like those informants in communist countries in the cold war. That's how BAD they are when it comes to silencing and censoring dissidence, and even worse when it comes to topics of violence, death, and suicide.

The best thing I've come up with is to leave my facebook access info in my note and ask for the readers (family unfortunately) to post something on fb. Shitty for them I know, but suicide would really suck for them already. Probably not advisable to post something beforehand, unless you ditch your phone (gps tracker) and go somewhere secret to commit the act.

FB actually has this thing called a legacy contact now where you can designate someone to post on your behalf when you die. Unfortunately it sends them q notificationm . I think it'll scare anyone if I designate them as my legacy as my life has been spiraling lately

I just reread this. That's great advice! I'll leave my contact info. Thank you

I know the answer to this will be obvious @Redt2go but are you ok? Has something specific happened that's made you feel worse? Or is it more up and down ? Xx

Reading the cautions posted here to you... remember families lie about cause of death when it's suicide, HIV, or something unpleasant. It happens, as it did when my brother and sister committed suicide. If you want people to know your truth I think a post on social media is advisable.

Oh, please don't do that. It's very melodramatic and kind of drama-queen exiting. I'm not a fan of spreading your life over SMS as it is, but at this last, final and most important time, I would prefer quiet dignity over drama.

You might as well put up a sign that says "Call the cops on me". Don't do it.

Thanks, I'll give my family that option. I don't really care if they lie or not.

Yes, I'm the most okay and healed that I've been in a long time. Not in the recent months no. My life in general has been a rollercoaster. Thanks for asking :)

I don't know where you live, so forgive me if this is stupid but if you are in a Winter zone currently, are you suffering from S A D?

No it's been fairly warm the past few weeks. Weather hear flips between high seventies to low 40s. Sometimes it snows and the sun is actually out for most of the day. I have suffered from SAD in the past though.
