I'm really curious about one particular issue of the SN method.

It's not clear whether you pass out in 10, 30 or 60 minutes but the point is: how are you supposed to handle your SI kicking in, knowing that you're basically dying?

I don't think benzos would be enough to handle the panic and avoid calling for help.

Plus SN doesn't seem to be exactly "peaceful", it seems that you're at least in discomfort.

I wonder how many people here managed to go through it and how many failed but we haven't known further about them.

I think I can make it more pleasant by using laughing gas, but first I want to try it and see what effect it has on me, I hope there is no interaction with SN.

The benzos are also for a quicker blackout time. Time to blackout varies with or without them, there are a few variables to it. But really it's the same with any other SI. You have to find out how to overcome it yourself. I would say from what I have heard, SN is generally fairly peaceful, especially in comparison to other methods. Discomfort doesn't mean it isn't peaceful, you are dying after all. There are many, many successful cases from this forum and outside this forum. SI is just a very personal issue to solve and there's no standard way to deal with it.

Well..there was a case of an individual I read about who ingested 10g of SN in alcohol (please do not take this as me suggesting it) and although he drank the sn mixed in with beer, he did vomit it immediately but he still required treatment as his Methb levels rose to 69%, it's quite possible the Ethanol increases gastric production which still allowed for significant amount of sn to be absorbed, all in all, not according to protocols but still worth avoiding.

Fair point about this but we don't know individual responses to how benzos will help or any of the myriad of symptoms that are said to uncomfortable, some found it manageable enough to deal with until unconsciousness and ctb whereas others panicked because the tachycardia caused or some other symptoms produced uncomfortable feelings so while it does seem like a luck of the draw regarding what your individual experience will be, these are ultimately variables no one can answer because one would have to attempt to experience...I guess, we can only infer what we can from various experiences that have been shared on the forum over the years. At this point, discussion of peacefulness has been largely circular and honestly, subject to personal thought at this point, whether its relatively peaceful which is true to an extent, corroborated by those who've shared their experience or it's absolutely worth avoiding, all down to you.

Good question that only those who've sadly passed on can answer but the fact it's a point still being grappled with suggests two things

1. It does still require a great amount of willpower to overcome the realization that your demise is imminent if no help is sought.

2. Perhaps (and maybe this could be also be true) that the rapid symptoms, one of which is general weakness potentially delays the ability to react to the situation in an effort to seek help.

Either way, considering this is ctb we're talking about, it's just never going to be easy. Plus I'll add that what @TheHolySword discomfort not necessarily meaning it's not peaceful is true, plus it is death we're talking, I'd be expecting some measure of discomfort if I'll be conscious for a bit before I go lights out.
