• Hey Guest,

An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.

Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.

i saw someone say that on a post about Chester from linkin park.
he seemed extremely upbeat, maybe even more than usual.
and people are suspecting it was bc he finally knew he was gonna get peace soon.

a very insightful comment i couldn't even have thought of myself.
but that makes perfect sense, doesn't it?

Cliches and tropes are a thing for a reason. People fall into habits. There are always signs when you look back but when you're in the moment everything can feel so innocent.

It's true. There are sudden impromptu suicides and there are thought out, planned suicides. For the planned ones, this is true. Not much else to say.

Yes this is something to be careful of. People will notice if your baseline is low energy and people suspect/know you struggle with depression etc ~ it will be a red-flag to those informed if this changes suddenly. I am conscious of this because it screwed me in my teens on first attempt. It's very much a real thing.

Committed to solution = no more problems = relief and then people ask themselves why? Could they possibly be going to…. ?!?

I heard of this before. There was a user here that mentioned a story of when he was a kid and walk past some elder man who seem extremely happy as he was duct tape the exhaust pipes of his RV. He waved at them smiling super cheerful little did they know he was trying to seal the carbon dioxide. The man wife had died a year early. The boy and his friends later played in his abandon RV. It's was too sad to read all one can hope for it that he found peace in the end.

Okay since I'm clearly an obsessed fan, I'm going to chime in on Chester's suicide. I have read countless articles, numerous books, and watched tons and tons of interviews.

Chester's suicide was not planned. It was an impulsive decision. He had confided in a close friend (Ryan Shuck) that he had been sober for 6 months but was fighting an hour by hour struggle with wanting to drink again.

When he was discovered, the police report said that they found an empty bottle of corona in his bathroom and a half full glass of Stella Artois on his nightstand. He succumbed to his addiction and that was the catalyst to his suicide.

Talinda mentioned that he always felt an intense shame when he would relapse and that's when he would express his desire to CTB. One instance after heavy drinking, he left the house with a shotgun and she had to call the police to help find him. Another instance after relapsing, he tied himself up and threw himself into a pool but changed his mind at the last minute. The suicidal ideation only ever came around (or at least to the point that he'd act it out) after he'd been drinking.

Obviously Chris Cornell's death weighed heavily on him. But even in the face of losing a close friend, he was actively working on himself and developing positive habits. He was genuinely in the happiest place of his life. He was in shape, healthy, sober, and had a bunch of new projects on the horizon that he was really excited about. Some of his last interviews you could see the happiness radiating off of him. And it was true happiness, not a mask like a lot of his other older interviews.

I truly to believe deep down that if he hadn't have been alone that night, he would still be with us. It was a moment of weakness and he just couldn't live with the shame of another relapse. There were no signs that it was planned out. He was still wearing the clothes he arrived home in, no note was left, his boarding pass was still in his pocket. Id bet my life that this was impulse.

It still hurts. Rest in paradise. ❤️🕊️

I can see that. Just the security that it's over and you won't have to deal with any more shit. Mainly is concerned with planned suicides as said before
