  • Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

I am really tired of the fights between my dad and brother. Yesterday, in private, my dad confessed that he wished was his only child and sometimes my brothers actions pushes him to wanting to do something he'd regret. He ended up confessing that he has no idea what to do with my brother and wants to hear my advice. Though when I mentioned forcing him into therapy that usually doesn't go over well. But he does want to hear my thoughts. Ugh

It can be painful to see two people for whom you care at odds with each other. It can be risky if you are seen as taking one side over the other. Therapy may be needed, but is seldom achieved with "force". It may be that using enticement or even bribery could be more effective. If your dad is expressing his frustration to you, you might suggest that he explore other avenues.

It is natural for a father who has been hurt by his son to feel resentment. This can sometimes be reduced by considering what limits the son has. Sometimes only the person on the sideline is in a position to suggest compassion, tolerance, and understanding. Even if limits need to be applied, it can be done with love.

You may be in a position to slowly help them achieve tolerance of each other. Just make sure that you are not drawn into their destructive dynamic. You may be the best hope they have.
