• Hey Guest,

An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.

Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.

As the title says, i wanted to talk about the afterlife!

To be honest, i believe that when we die we experience whatever we believed in when we were alive (so if youre christian you go to heaven/hell etc) and so i was wondering, why are so many people against suicide? After all its not like life has much to offer in comparison with what i could get when i die (thats what i believe in anyway)

Also, ive heard stories of people having near death experiences just to come back alive and healthy. I believe that they did die but decided to experience life for a little longer!

With all my beliefs i think that suicide is a choice like any other, you do it and then idk you could go back to life (or js experience it) in a better way/place

I think that this belief is so freeing (for me at least) because to me death is more comforting than life

Anyway i was curious what others think so feel free to share your opinion on this!! (Also i wasnt sure where to post this i hope i chose suicide discussion correctly 😭 kind reminder that there might be spelling mistakes or some things not making sense, english isnt my first language and ive always been bad at explaining stuff)

I think i understand your question, is those what happens after death theory that your consciousness shifts to a parallel universe where you did not die, that every action creates a timeline where we did the contrary

I just believe death to simply be non-existence which is all I wish and hope for, I just want to painlessly cease existing and never suffer ever again, for me only permanent non-existence could ever be desirable, it's all I see as ideal, I only hope to be permanently unconscious incapable of suffering in any way. I'd never wish to be conscious of anything at all, to me existence itself truly is the problem and I just want permanent peace from it, I'd always prefer peace over pointless suffering in this existence I always saw as the most terrible tragic mistake in the first place. I'd always prefer to cease existing than to suffer for the sake of it in this existence just to die in agony from old age with no limit as to how much one can be tortured, to me existence truly is the most cruel, futile burden and I suffer just from being burdened with this existence.

I'm not sure what I believe in and that's the only reason I am still alive. I'm not scared of dying but I'm terrified of what might be on the other side.

I hope afterlife is just nothing. I believe nothing is my idea of heaven.

Please no to reincarnation or eternal damnation. Don't want to suffer again.

i guess we really don't know what's in the afterlife until we get there. It could be peaceful or it could be a nightmare but i am guessing peacefulness.

Its probably nothing. I think its like anesthesia. I remember when they put me to sleep for a surgery. It was different than sleep. I think the heaven thing is something u experience before u die. Ur brain has dmt in it that is released just about u are gonna die. But real death is probably nothing. Its like before u were born

I believe either nothingness or reincarnation. Today I had a very strange thought. Maybe we are all trapped on cycle of eternal reincarnation Suffering life after life. The only way to escape this hellish nightmare was to CTB. Only by killing oneself will you be free

Noticed several comments that aligned with what I think. I also believe there's nothing after death.

To answer why so many religious people are against it: in most religions (especially Christianity) it is believed that suicide is a sin because you end your life because god decided it or something.

So according to them when you kill yourself you go to hell.

Gonna be interesting with my parents being extremely religious Christians. It's kinda funny to think that they will be conflicted because of sadness for my death as well as the fact that im going to hell according to them.

I believe there definitely is an afterlife. All the many people who have spoken of their experiences when their bodies have physically died but been resurrected on the operating table speak of this. I am a Christian, though I've had a hard enough time in the past seven years to not want this life any more I do believe in an after life and basically there is a choice on what is offered. It is hard though.

This assumes consciousness has the power to manifest reality in death, but there's no empirical evidence that beliefs can create external reality, even in life.

Many people die without clear beliefs about the afterlife (e.g., agnostics, young children, or those with cognitive impairments). What determines their experience?

NDEs Aren't Actual Death:
By medical definitions, death is irreversible. People who experience NDEs are often in a near-death state but not biologically dead. For example:
Brain activity continues in most cases of NDEs.
The heart stopping (clinical death) is not the same as brain death.
If someone truly "died," they wouldn't return to life without medical intervention.
There's no evidence to support the idea that people "choose" to return to life during NDEs.

Your brain gives you a dmt trip before you die? Is that gonna happen when I take SN or will I already be unconscious by then?
I hope my after life is I get to start over from the beginning at least three years old and fix everything
Same! Not necessarily that young but some earlier time before it's too late for me.

Ive had a couple of extremely odd 'occurrances' in my life that have made me think there's someone or thing out there directing things. Now when I say occurrences, I mean things happened that just couldn't be put down to chance. The odds would be astronomical. Saying they happened by chance would be equally far fetched too. Hence, I personally think there's more going on than we know. We might not understand it or be able to explain it (and some might not like it) but there still is.
