  • Hey Guest,

Today, OFCOM launched an official investigation into Sanctioned Suicide under the UK’s Online Safety Act. This has already made headlines across the UK.

This is a clear and unprecedented overreach by a foreign regulator against a U.S.-based platform. We reject this interference and will be defending the site’s existence and mission.

In addition to our public response, we are currently seeking legal representation to ensure the best possible defense in this matter. If you are a lawyer or know of one who may be able to assist, please contact us at [email protected].

In a therapy session earlier today I brought up the subject of euthanasia and after discussing it with my therapist for a while... he offered his support?!?!?? He admitted the whole thing made him sad, but he could see how serious I felt about it. I suppose I was able to articulate myself better than usual too. Still, his response completely took me by surprise. I'm glad I didn't get carted off to the nearest psych ward though.

Granted, I still mean to end my life in the way I've already planned, but this might just work out as an extra back-up plan. Also, I'll be able to tell everyone I know about my serious euthanasia plans without having the authorities called on my ass.

That is really refreshing to hear from a therapist. The ability to be non-judgmental is required but hard to find in a therapist for me at least. I'm glad to hear that you are feeling more comfortable talking about euthanasia without the fear of being hospitalized. It's nice to be able to tell people irl and not have them call the authorities right away. Sometimes just talking about ctb really helps people feel better.

Telling everyone about your plans? Probably still not the best idea, I would advice caution, especially if it could put your therapist in a dangerous situation. But of course discussing it with people you trust and who care about you is important and probably will take some weight off your shoulders. Maybe even will help see things differently. In any case, good to hear that you have found a sympathetic soul.

I think this will be more common in the future. Peaceful suicide is a human right. People have no choice but to be open-minded about it.

Your therapist is awesome! I still suggest caution around the subject. You never know what will happen

Fair point guys. I mean I wasn't going to declare it to the world right away, but as soon as I've started the actual process of requesting euthanasia at my gp I should feel a little more free to start informing more friends of my wishes. I'll take it one step at at time. :)

You are lucky to have a therapist that is accepting and understanding. If only everyone was like that, many people do not seem to respect the right to die. I am envious of people who can get euthanasia, I deserve to leave this world peacefully. I wish you the best in whatever happens.

I had a similar experience with my therapist recently and I was so thrown by the experience. I'm very ill and told her I don't understand the point of going on when I am bedridden and can't be independent. She told me that she understood and that it's very reasonable. Usually when I tell a therapist I want to commit the big one, they try to talk you down or something. I had never experienced support for my decision and it felt soooo good
