Discussion Those of you who aren't currenty activly looking to ctb, what's your reason why?

Just curious about what's the most common reason people in here would not ctb.

I guess I just haven't fully accepted the idea. Things haven't got bad enough for full commitment.
Lots of planning for various methods, alas I'm still here with no attempts, and I've been here since 2022.

I went with multiple answers, and they might be worth expanding on. When asking myself the same question, the answer is more often than not: "I don't fucking know." It might be a good exercise to form a better answer.

It goes against my belief system, in the sense that I see quitting life as a failure. If I'm going to fail, a quick surrender is preferrable to a long painful and grueling process cluttered with delusions and false hopes, but I still have too many options to be fully certain about the future. While I tend to lean towards despair, there's also occasional hope, and constant uncertainty.

I also have a fiercely loyal dog. It's a large livestock guardian - an extremely protective, vigilant and capable dog. She'd be very hard to hand over, and I think I owe her the same loyalty as she's showing me.

I'm working on recovery, not because it's meaningful in itself, but because of the first two reasons.

Just a timing thing at the moment logistically and maybe holding onto some impossible hope on a person.
