• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

I get so many spam calls. I have a rule: if I don't recognize your number and am not expecting a call, I won't answer. If you call twice without a voicemail, I'll block you. But they then change their numbers and keep coming up. I am tempted to change my number and only give it to my boss, family members, and friends. Never give it away on an email website or anything.

I do too & they've been increasing lately - often from states I've never been to & know nobody. Never answer.

It makes me mad. I have a rule just like Trashcan's. I never answer unknown numbers. These fuckers are always trying to sell me something.

I actually kind of miss the Microsoft scam call. I had so much fun fucking around with them the time they called me. It was hilarious.

Now I get "Hello, you have been randomly selected for a free vacation. Press 1 to redeem now." So I stopped picking up the unknown calls. I never got the IRS scam call either. Sad.

If they were humans, I could have fun trolling them. But now they're always robo callers, and half of the time, there's just dead silence if you answer.

I hate those fuckers. They change their numbers so the numbers appear to be local too. Sneaky bastards. Mostly Indians.

Definitely change your number if you're getting too many spam calls. Even if you didn't do surveys or anything, if you've shopped a lot and put the number in your account and those sites have been compromised, eventually your number gets into databases...

I'm pretty deaf so I don't pick up calls anyway, but I have a pretty automatic stress response to being called, so I hate telemarketer calls. Businesses call, and sometimes relatives, but pretty much everyone knows I won't answer by now, and that I will either get someone to call back or will text. My voicemails get transcribed, so they just leave voicemails. Thankfully everyone else is developing this tendency to ignore most numbers anyway, so my behaviour finally became a bit easier to get away with.

No voicemail or text, no call back, 99% of the time. There are people this policy would be unjustified with, but they would all just call my mother anyway instead of me.

Another one called the home phone tonight. Of course I was asked to pick it up. I got off real quick though.

LOL, a funny way of dealing with these people is asking them for money. I do that, once in awhile for laughs. They just hang up on you.

I been getting a lot of political calls. I can't even jerk these jackoffs around anymore because most the calls calls are automated.

Ugh last week we got another automated call from the police department asking for donations. My aunt and I picked up the phone at the same time. She is so nice....she was like "oh I know this is going for a good cause but I am so busy yada yada". The automated voice interrupted her and told her she will be getting a letter. I jumped in and said PUT US ON YOUR DO NOT CALL LIST PORKY"....so the automated voice stopped, then said "putting you on the do not call list". done and done!

A lot of times the number is spoofed. The number that lights up on your caller ID is a fake. Sometimes they spoof a local number so you're more inclined to pick up. The scammers have a lot of tricks up their sleeve.

I've started messing about with the 'have you had an accident' callers. I tell them I have and then create a fake story. Last time I had the Indian guy on the other end of the phone shout at me 'why are you lying to me?' before hanging up. Sometimes when I'm bored/waiting for the next call (!) I think about what I could tell them next.

I wish I'd these "accident" callers here. I can concoct some pretty wild tales.
