• Hey Guest,

An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.

Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.

I did a search but I couldn't find the best place to post this, so here it is:
For those that suffer from tinnitus (as do I), these guys have developed an ear plug that appears to have surprising results lessening tinnitus. It's a UK company and I've no idea if the product I've linked to works or not. But if you are in the UK and tinnitus is ruining your life, maybe it's worth a shot.

Thanks, @Underscore. Would love to know if it works. I've had it in both ears all week. Usually only in my right. Both ears is enough to want to be run over by the Bus!
Spooky... a Promoted ad for these just popped up on my Twitter feed. :sunglasses:

I saw a facebook post, where Flare were surprised that it seemed to lessen tinnitus, wasn't their intention, but they are running with it. I've got their sleep earplugs but not tested them yet as I need to make sure my ears are wax free first.

I'm not in UK but this sounds interesting. I have 2 types of tinnitus the ringing ears type and an physical sensation of intermittent heart beat/flicking ear drum sensation. For the ringing I use a white noise machine and it helps but the damn physical sensation in ears is just hopeless... although quitting drugs has helped I noticed. Xanax helps with the flare ups wit the physical sensation but it's no real solution. Tinnitus is evil

Yes, I suffer too, but I'm lucky that it's not that bad. Though I do wonder what it would be like to experience real silence for once.

Seems just as noiser to me, something that gives you sound as a distraction. Maybe it also helps with residual inhibition, that is inhibition of tinnitus due to adjacent frequencies being heard. Nothing new here. Some, not all people profit from residual inhibition. I used to before my setbacks. I heard this high-pitched tone, and then my tinnitus was knocked out for 30 seconds, slowling creeping back in. A noiser is just something to mask tinnitus.

To be fair, there are quite a lot of useless products and scams for tinnitus. Some report improval with bimodal stimulation i.e. Lenire but others report worsening

I'm sure there are loads of scams, as far as I can tell though, those earplugs aren't meant to help tinnitus at all, but people have been reporting an improvement which has the surprised the manufacturer. However, what helps one person could harm another and who knows, maybe it's just marketing...

For my tinnitus, I play classical music during all waking all hours. For sleep, I have a white noise machine set to the sound of a heavy rain storm. My machine has about 20 different sound options, ocean, crickets, campfire, river, etc. Both seem to help distract me from the tinnitus.
