• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

Talking as an European in a NATO country. I am not too worried about it; one man cannot influence a whole government, even if it's the president. NATO lets Americans have us depend on them, which has always been something they wanted, and they're not letting it go easily, I can assure you. Trump's threats are just sterile, only thing I can see is him cutting some funding.

You need to get off the internet and go do something else. Read a book. Go for a walk. Meditate. But please get off the internet if you want a chance of salvaging your mental health right now. You're spiraling.

no, US has many reasons to keep NATO running (presence on half of the world, military bases, influence, power projection). It's not like Trump will say "FU" to other NATO countries and just leave. He just wants the participant countries to fulfill the 2% GDP spending on army, which is reasonable. If you country is already spending 2% or more, you're safe, if not, it does not have to spend 2% right away, it just has to have a plan when it will reach the required spending.

Also recent events in the world (russo-ukraine war, north korea threats and involvement, tensions between china and taiwan, war between israel and iran-backed houthi and hezbollah) already makes all countries to spend more of their GDP on army. 2% should be easily achievable for rich western european countries, even without trump/us pressure on them.

Don't worry, nato won't cease to exist. IMO people are over-reacting to the election results...
(also i won't discuss politics anymore in this topic, because I know it will probably make you and/or me upset, and will not change our political view, i don't even want to. I just wish people would chill more).

You are lucky, millions of Americans depend on various forms of funding to simply live. It's nothing to you or to me but it's life or death for those who need/use/somehow benefit from programs like Social Security, Medicare, ACA, SNAP, the Dept of Education, and many more.
