Too dumb for a simple knot

Hey,

this is my first post and it may be a little bit stupid but whatever

Most guides for partial hanging only mention what knot has to be used on one end but don't bother
to tell you which knot belongs to the other side.

The side for your head has to be a slip knot, I get that. But what's with the other side?

Depends on what you're tying off to. There are all sorts of knots that might apply. What do you have in mind?

I used to rig tall ships, so I might know a couple that'd work...

As long as they hold my weight and aren't all too complicated Iam fine with anything. What do people usually use?

I'm not sure what people usually use, but for a basic, general-purpose knot to tie off the fixed end of the line you can't go too wrong with a clove hitch. I'm sure there are internet resources --YouTube?-- that tell/show you how to tie it. An anchor hitch is probably a bit more secure, but I'm not sure you're that interested in making your knot the model of perfection. After all, you're not on SS to get a degree in knot tying.

Practice it a couple times before you rely on it. I could do it in my sleep, and I trust it to hold my boat in a storm (when used with an anchor), but I've been tying it for over 40 years.

tonight I will be checking out via the soft hang. it does not involve suffocation , its placement of a well made single knot noose , as long as the knot constricts it does not matter which one you choose as long as it keeps tightening . ropes that have been treated in oil work much better. the goal is place knot high above left hand side ear on back of neck, then work rope up under the jaw line and not say Adams apple area and just lean into the noose then you fall into a swimmy blankness within seconds , like failing asleep and death follows within 5 to 10 minutes. the aim is to restrict the carotid Artery and stop feeding the brain its blood and not choke on the wind pipe. if I succeed I guess I wont be able to share but I have put some time in planning this and tonight is the night. oh, im going to take a shit load of benzos and opiates while drinking too and when im nice and fucked up on Xanax and oxy im going to just lean inn and your feet don't even leave the ground. I will upload a file the community might find of interest .

no, I have done a test run and there isn't time for agony fingers under noose lent in and instantly started getting stars in the eyes. full on body relax into it I give myself 5 to 10 seconds before unconsecnsis. thank you for your concern.
