• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

So the conservative government are going after people with mental health problems (specifically) as they seek to gain re-election. They want to cut benefits and force vulnerable people (like me) back to the work force. The UN have already said that they are breaching human rights violations. These people in government are monsters, and they will push more people over the edge with all of these despicable attacks on people who can't easily defend themselves.

They can try but they'll regret it, and besides, companies are not dumb enough to employ people with mental health issues or crippled people, it's a bad idea from a financial point of view and even from a ethical view, crippled or mentally ill people will cause more financial loses than they'd bring, at some point journalists will be be investigating the work conditions and once they find a bad environment, it'll be very bad for these political shitheads

Will the tories get re-elected though?

Because the latest polling I've seen is Tories around 22% & Labour around 44%. I think a Labour government would have more empathy towards the likes of us.

I know exactly how I'm voting on 4 July but can you please keep posts like this in the politics subforum? I've got on ignore for a very specific reason. I'm sure you can appreciate the bowel loosening terror these sort of threads inspire - and since I have physical health stuff going on as well as my mental health, I'm not talking metaphorically. I'm very careful about what political news I read and view, especially at election time and I really don't want to have to stop visiting this forum for the duration. There's a lot of people on here who, whether they know it or not, give me a lot of support when I'm clinging on by my fingertips and it's the only place I can talk openly and honestly about things like self harm and suicidal ideation.

Tbh, I don't trust the direction that Kier Starmer may take the country either. He is no Jeremy Corbyn when it comes to the welfare state and the Labour party are trying to appear as fiscally responsible. I see nothing in their mission statement that talks about disabled people's rights (not in any clear terms). We can only hope they are not as hard-line as the Tories. Time will tell, but I don't feel too confident about them either, and I have voted for the party all my life. Having said all that, the conservatives, need to go. They are pure evil and vile.

I'm sorry you have to live in such a dystopian shithole where these nazi-esque policies can be implemented. If the goverment needs more money, they should start taxing the rich, instead of punching down on the most vulnerable, the lives of whom are already hanging by a thread.

What happened to Corbyn? Wasn't he the front-runner of the labour party until fairly recently?

I agree. Jeremy Corbyn was ousted by the party because they thought he was too far left. In reality, he was only trying to make sure the most vulnerable in society was protected. Corbyn was also relentlessly bashed by right-wing rags like the Daily Mail and unfairly demonised. We have Sir Kier Starmer running the party now but he (like Tony Blair in the past) is trying to appeal to Conservatives as well, to get a shot at power. Who, knows what this means in the long-term, but hopefully they won't be just as bad as the Tories. Cause they really are cruel.
