Are you afraid of the possibility of an afterlife, like hell? does that influence your decision? Or are you completely free of the fear of afterlife?

I'm completely free of the fear. I'll ask you a question. There have been billions of people who have died in the past. Billions more are alive right now. Do you really think some heavenly being is sitting in the sky waiting for us to die and segregate into heaven and hell so that he can spend eternity with us? Human ego wishes that there was an afterlife.

The truth, however, is very different. A hypothetical God wouldn't care about humans because his intelligence would be so great that he couldn't possibly have anything in common with us. Do you understand that from a logical perspective? Let me explain. Would you want to sit down with an Ant And discuss anything?Yeah, think about that. Think about it carefully.

I love the mods on this site btw,i think they are the best,I think they're really fair. And they're really nice to me as well🤩

The things i have to go through...

Recently, I've become closer to God, and some people may not believe, and that's up to them.
In my own opinion, I don't fear hell, I fear living each day.

No fear of the after life what so ever. What people say about the after life is just a means of controlling people. Fear is an extremely powerful tool if you want to control someone's behaviour. I didn't know I was being born and I don't expect to know anything when I'm dead.

Extreme Pain is much worse than people know

1 micro second after my brain dies i will cease to exist forever after that. so i have no fear of any afterlife nor reincarnation. i look forward to permanent non-existence because that is the ultimate bliss.

only non-existence forever guarantees that i won't suffer extremely . so eternal non-existence is the best thing to me by a trilion times. non-existence forever is as good as the most extreme unbearable pain is bad the most extreme torture.

i do fear unbearable pain . but pain can only happen when i'm alive and with a functioning brain. i fear living every day or failing a suicide attempt and remaining alive with more damage

i don't fear non-existence because you can't suffer or feel pain if you don't exist.

i could do without all the things they say are so pleasureable fun important , and would gladly trade these addictions for never having to suffer constant unbearable pain.

non-existence forever means no pain no suffering no problems no bad memories all problems solved forever .... to me that is the best thing

i wouldn't trade 10 hours of the enjoyable things for 10 seconds of the worst pain or worst torture. much less trade an even 10 for 10 hours. so they tell us life is good but i don't buy that.

it's possible for that 10 seconds of the worst torture to last years of the worst unending constant torture unbearable pain. this is what they repeatedly tell us is so good a brain that can suffer unending constant unbearable pain which is what i am. so they tell us life is good but i don't buy that. there can no comparison to non-existence forever finally to rest easy safe for all time ....

Imagine you had a dog. You wanted to punish the dog for something wrong he did by torturing him. You did it for a few days, then a few weeks, then a few months, then a few years. You continued doing it for eternity. You see where I'm going with this? That would be an insane amount of effort to, wouldn't it? It would also be evil as all hell, wouldn't it? You want to torture the dog forever because of something wrong it did in life? Forever, forever. Wouldn't that go against the point of a benevolent being like god...

Why would hell exist? To torture you? What would be the point?

These things have been ingrained into us from childhood, so it's very hard to shake it off. But shake it off you must. Just like a dog.

God is just Santa but for adults, religion is just used to control and keep people in order. Also, it attempts to answer the hard questions and seems to be sufficient for a lot of people.

No, I don't believe in that rather I just believe death to simply be non-existence, nothing more than an eternal dreamless sleep where all is finally gone and forgotten and there is no more pain and no more suffering and to permanently cease existing is all I hope for, for me non-existence truly is all that's positive and desirable and I'd just always prefer to not exist than be burdened with this existence of suffering all for the sake of it that I always saw as the most terrible tragic mistake. What I fear is suffering in this existence for way longer, I see existence as the most cruel, torturous burden and I see it as a tragedy how this existence was even imposed that just causes all this suffering all for the sake of it and problems there were never a need for with no limit as to how much agony one can feel, for me non-existence really is the only peace.

I have always had that uncertainty and I believe that whether you are a bit of a believer or a bit of a skeptic, there will be that doubt about what would happen after life (or death).

On the one hand, I think nothingness awaits us, the cessation of consciousness, even sleep without dreams, nightmares, simply nothing, all darkness (without consciousness). But there is skeptical doubt and even curiosity about whether there is a paradise, the fear of hell, of continuing in another dimension suffering or feeling nothing. In short, I think I'm no longer aware of what might happen after death. Although I assume, given the existence of a "supreme being" who ruled over life, he wouldn't punish you, as popular culture says, "you'll go to hell for committing suicide." Consequently, I consider life to be an unknown, death even more so, but given the circumstances of uncertainty, it's clear to me that there is nothing "after life."

I think the reason I don't fear hell is because I won't be going there, and besides, I can't imagine being in more pain than I'm currently in now. If anything, I'd imagine Hell to be a relief.
My soul is already tortured every day.

Yes, in fact, this has stopped me from going through with attempting multiple times because of the uncertainty of what happens after death. According to a lot of religions you go to hell after you commit and the thought of me being stuck in in a hell for eternity that is worse than the personal hell I am stuck in right now terrifies me. I am an atheist myself but the idea still scares me.

the fact you are even here and that something rather than nothing subjects there always be some form of existence is a profound question about the nature of existence and the possibility of nothingness. It suggests that the mere fact of something existing implies that some form of existence is inevitable, and that nothingness is either impossible or a state that cannot be sustained.

No I dont believe in Hell thats a a fear tactic used by Religion to control people. If there is an afterlife after or nothing is fine with me. We wont have a nervous system to feel fear when we are dead
