• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

"The unclaimed corpses indicator basically says that, during times of financial strife, family members choose not to claim dead bodies, in order to save on funeral costs, which can often be very high. This results in the state paying for funeral costs instead.
As such, the higher the number of unclaimed bodies, the gloomier the economic outlook is likely to be. As an example, back in 2009, in the middle of the financial crisis, when layoffs were soaring, the US cities such as Detroit and Los Angeles saw an increase in the number of unclaimed corpses."

Geez that's dark

It is absurd that we aren't allowed to bury a dead body in the ground ourselves for free like in the past but are forced to pay a service to do it, weird time to live in

Some graveyards actually lease plots while some sell them. Kind of crazy, too.

Not sure it's a legitimate economic indicator but more of a social wealth indicator. How many of those unclaimed bodies died by natural versus unnatural causes? My hunch is that victims of violent crime – interesting that they used Detroit as an example – are less claimed.

Plausible, but insufficient data presented to demonstrate the purported correlation...
