  • Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

I usually have good hygiene even when depressed but my hair was the one thing I was neglecting for some reason. I hadn't washed them in 4 months and today I finally did because my scalp was starting to feel really itchy.

One explanation might be that I have nappy curly hair and my hair has always given me anxiety. I have PTSD from "hair" time where my mom would comb and braid my hair as a child ( top 4 painful painful childhood memories).

Anyway I gathered enough courage to go the store and buy shampoo, conditioner and hair oils and it took me 9 hours to detangle my hair and wash them and it was so satisfying watching the dirt leave my hair while rinsing.

My scalp feels really good and relaxed. No more itching! I also forgot the feeling of smelling delicious because of the lingering smell of shampoo.

Reading this, only one thing comes to mind - shaving my head was one of the most liberating things I ever did.

good for you. you must feel fresh. Sorry about your mom older generations are obsessed with pulling girls hair. I personally like to shower every day but I hate brushing my hair. It is thick and curly. It easily tangles so the mission is painful. I started cutting some of the tangled hair instead of brushing it

you shaved your hair bald?
I mean, I was going bald, not full bald though, but still there weren't that much choice involved. But better bald than my head looking like a sickly sheep's back. No itching, no shampoos, no hairderessers, no worrying about bad hair days. Really, a blessing in disguise 😋

I can really relate. This is why I usually immediately braid my hair in cornrows or ponytail braids immediately after washing them.

I asked because I heard that when you shave your hair bald, showers hit different. I heard it's one of the best sensations in the world.

Well done for doing that, back in November I managed to visit a hair dresser for the first time in 3 yrs or so, also she washed it, which was its first time in 6 months, I have only managed to wash my hair once since,
its silly how the most simple task can become a hurdle that almost feels impossible to over come.

same here. every 3 or 4 weeks I just pass the hair clipper on my head. takes 20 minutes. frees me of so much work.
if I want my hair to be bigger and not look bald, I simply wait more time in between sessions, like doing it every 12 weeks instead of 3 weeks.

Congrats. Your head must feel so much better and like a bunch of weight has been removed.

I remember falling for "no shampoo" back in 2014 and stopped when my dandruff turned yellow after some months. I can't live without my dandruff shampoo.

I tried no shampoo too. It just doesn't feel or look good on me. I see it works for some people though. I'm just trying to cut down on my shampooing and find a balance.
