  • Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

I felt like I learned a lot watching this. Thanks.

This is definitely the closest thing I've ever heard to a pro-choice position from a well-known psychologist/psychiatrist. All he really said (summarizing) was that it is preferable to place the emphasis on creating something to live for rather than on preventing suicide. And that feels radical. Sigh. Baby steps I guess.

I also liked the discussion of alternatives to psychiatric medication, e.g. learning postures, breathing techniques, mental techniques, etc. to influence your emotions. This is making me want to check out that post someone wrote here recently summarizing that book by him (The Body Keeps the Score). Interesting stuff.

I'm a strong believer in euthanasia, something which I will do when my health totally fails, until then, I intend to keep on living.

You @JoysoftheEmptiness and me must be twins, as I am of the same train of thought.

I am 68 and have 24/7 chronic pain and I live with it and also take lots of opioids and when the day comes that it is all too much, then LET'S GO!

When i mention this to my psychologist, she winces at me and then I tell her it is my right, as far as euthanasia goes.

Everyone makes their own choices in this world, that is why I am 100% pro-choice on everything and euthanasia should be a viable choice for everyone as an option in this life and world.

I so dislike governments trying to tell me how to life and when it is time to move on, all of that is MY choice to make and no one else ever.

Walter

Hi Walter, I'm on Tramadol for my multi level spondylosis, the pain never ceases, but I'm still coping, there's so much we can do with our lives, but there's a point where we must make a decision, shall we continue? My best friend, my ex, passed away last month, she was just 48, we still lived together, still friends, she was severely disabled, and getting worse, my mobility is going, I use a walking stick, and mobility scooter, using a stick is painful, my elbows and shoulders hurt, at some point, I'll get an electric wheelchair, can't use a manual, as my spine is screwed up. My mental health has been crap for decades, bullied through school, in work, and just bullied, I self harmed to cope with it all. There's a point at which I got to make a decision on what to do, like I said, we can do so much, and then its over. If you want to chat, I'm here, been on SaSu for a month here, and I totally feel at home.

Take care, friend,

Chris

This is good. Make yourself "matter" and self-regulation. šŸ¤”šŸ‘ (Wish I had or have a therapist like this guy)
