For me, it's the "Do you know where your children are?" slogan that used to be played on night television for parents asking, well, if they knew where their kids were at that time. The weird thing about the slogan isn't even that it was teaching(?) parental responsibility, just that it seems that parents at the time were completely unaware of their children's whereabouts

Based on the language, I would assume that the slogan is referring to actual children and not teens, so it's not like these parents' faith in their children to keep themselves safe is partially understandable. You would think that a good amount of parents have, presumably, developed an emotional attachment to the being they've brought into the world. Of course, there's bound to be parents that didn't want kids enough to the extent they'd neglect them, but it's sad that there was a significant amount of these types of parents that it warranted a slogan

Plus, wouldn't asking that question be too late? Let's assume the worst: some parents' young kid got lost in the dangerous area of town. By the time the parent realizes this, the kid could've gotten seriously hurt or been in danger! Obviously, the slogan was crafted with good intentions, but to me, it seems like it's a case of too little, too late

There are also other weird (in my opinion) things from the past I find interesting, but there's just something about "It's 10 PM. Do you know where your children are?" that really catches my eye

I'm going to be honest; that thing sounds like some analogue horror shit.

I won't be surprised if this has inspired some analog horror concepts, though I haven't seen evidence of such thus far. This seems right up FNAF's alley, considering how serious parental neglect has led to the franchise's significant plot events

I think for me it would have to be all the worming PSAs (not actual PSAs)

I thought I imagined the event until I looked it up

there were actual worming warnings in 2013 warning people (mostly just teenagers) not to lick each other's eyeballs

which leaves me with the question:

Did this become a trend/resurface because some random teen discovered Suehiro Maruo's art, guro, ero guro, and horror manga, and films (he is known for the disturbing anime film Shojo Tsubaki also known as Midori: The Girl in The Freakshow) ?

OR was this because Toshio Saeki's art ? Which is of the same genre with some fantasy elements

What was the first case of this happening in the USA ?

Was anyone injured ?
