I'm trying antidepressants for the first time. Starting on Citalopram. What do you guys take?
As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

I did feel some placebo effect on the first week, yeah. But now it's back to my depression. Hope I feel better after the sixth week though.Takes 6 weeks to feel any benefit, but placebo effect is common after about a week.
Give it 6 to 10 weeks and if no better ask them to increase dose.I did feel some placebo effect on the first week, yeah. But now it's back to my depression. Hope I feel better after the sixth week though.
Your GP should be able to change your medicine/up your dose if there is no effects. Keep at itI did feel some placebo effect on the first week, yeah. But now it's back to my depression. Hope I feel better after the sixth week though.
If only there was a magic pill we could all take to cure our brains. Whoever makes that will be a billionaire.Thank you for the answers @Suicide_vampire @BPDbitch - I have an appointment with my psychiatrist in 3 days, I guess she will increase my dosage, as I really don't feel much of an effect. I thought that when I start going the AD road I will just start feeling happy/uninterested after the first pill. Guess I was wrong.

I take Wellbutrin and medical marijuana. It's the only thing that kinda helps me.Got prescribed Wellbutrin and took it for 2 months but it didn't do anything except suppress my cigarette cravings. Apparently it is also prescribed for smoking cessation and in that regard I can warmly recommend it
I am not saying this particular med is for you, but I have no side effects from Wellbutrin.Nothing as of now. Family is now worried, and begging me to give it a try. I'm worried about the side effects, and don't want to become dependent on them like I am sleep aid. I have a very addictive personality. Idk my brain will literally tell me if I don't take it I won't be able to sleep. So I figure it would be the same thing with antidepressants. I honestly want to give weed a try before I take anything pill wise. Thought about giving CBD a try. I don't want to walk around life stoned, but figure it's worth a shot than prescriptions.
I'm sorry, but do you mean Wellbutrin? It's a norepinephrine-dopamine reuptake inhibitor (NDRI).I thought hey don't use SSRIs for 'BPD'? Or is it only with 'comorbid depression'

As far as dependence, if you need a medication, you need it. One wouldn't worry about becoming dependent on insulin. :)
I was under the impression Antidepressants aren't very effective for 'personality disorders' while OP said she is starting on one.I'm sorry, but do you mean Wellbutrin? It's a norepinephrine-dopamine reuptake inhibitor (NDRI).
I personally had Bariatric Surgery and cannot take SSRIs.
I can only speak for myself. I have been on and off since adolescence with Wellbutrin. Must have gone back on it 4 years ago. No side effects.I see the medication commercials all the time. I get anxious thinking about all the potential side effects. Completely understand not everyone experience the same side effects, and others don't have any side effects. My luck in life is that I'll experience really shit side effects. I'm just hesitant...
