Title explains it all. I know with both you can compress the carotid arteries and lose consciousness within seconds. I want to get the best information about both the pros and cons to each and then decide for myself which one I should do. I'll also be taking xanax before hand, maybe a pain killer, and also hyperventilating for a few minutes before hand to get rid of carbon dioxide.

Its mainly a matter of preference. As long as you make sure your ligature and whatever it is anchored to can support your weight, then they will both have about the same probability of success.
