I got my SN and I plan to ctb in a few days but I've been struggling with the idea of what it's gonna be like when I'm found.. I moved in with my parents a few months ago and I can't imagine doing that to my mom, she would be devastated so I'm thinking a hotel would be a good place to go? I also thought about my car but I'm not sure that would work,
Any thoughts?

That's my plan, but I'm feeling a little guilty about the damage caused to the place...

My idea is to leave a sum for cleaning, put a plastic sheet on the bed so it doesn't get dirty, leave a do not disturb sign and schedule messages for the police to let them know what happened to try to avoid traumatizing a hotel employee.

Hotels are popular. Leaving a note for staff who may ignore the DND sign is a good idea as well. Not everyone would willingly walk upon a person who is deceased and of those that do, many wish they hadn't. I hope you find peace, I'm still searching for my way out.

i know a hotel may be the safest place for some, but i wouldnt want to put the hotel workers through the trouble of cleaning up the room after my remains would be found... plus possibly traumatizing a stranger. im sure it depends where you stay though. people who work at motels where lots of drug overdoses happen probably see it all the time, but someone at a random hilton hotel ? i wouldnt be sure haha. but if i were to ctb with SN id do it in my car, parked somewhere where no one would be around for a while.

A hotel is a great choice - and is mine - because they have usually have good wifi for streaming as well

The only problem is that they design the rooms so there are not many anchor locations,

My approach is to buy a portable chin up bar that you can place in a door way like a bathroom. It's designed to carry your wieght

Is it fair to hotel staff to die and decompose in one of their rooms. Probably not, but they are often trained to call the right services to clean up your mess

If you want beams - you have to rent a whole old house on AirBNB. I have considered that approach

i don't know... i would be a little scared of traumatizing an innocent worker. but im really not sure. also like someone said, in some countries they structure the layout to minimize risk of suicide

I'm planning to use a hotel. It will traumatize the staff some, but less than my parents if I did it at home. I've read about it on Reddit and it sounds like it happens frequently enough that it's just a sad part of the job.

I guess a hotel can give you some peace and quiet in the final moments, so that's fine.

maybe leave a do not disturb sign and then schedule an email to the hotel or to police or something for a few days later so they can clean up

That's oddly comforting..It makes me feel better knowing they'll just be like "ugh another one, someone get a mop" lol

That is my plan. It would be a lot worse to do it, in my parent's home. The best way is to leave some scheduled messages so people aren't caught that off guard and limit the damage as much as possible.

It feels like the lesser of the evils to me. I definitely wouldn't want family to find me. Plus, I think there are certainly steps you can take to try and reduce the trauma for hotel workers. For example- blocking the entranceway to the room with a sign to not enter but alert authorities. Laying down plastic sheeting to reduce mess etc.

You're right. I'm reconsidering replacing the hotel with buying a tent, camping in a place with no one around and scheduling a message to the police.

Depending on the place I find, I may even delay this message by a week, so I won't even be recognizable anymore.

Just when you check in have a bag and a reason you are going to a hotel in your home town. Say something like they are painting my homen

a campsite would actually be kinda beautiful. if youre up for it, you could go for a walk or hike and take in the scenery one last time. i think dying in nature could be a tribute to it, returning to nature and giving your body to the earth. but thats just me! whatever you choose, i wish you the best and hope you find peace
