What do you prefer in your birthday?

When it used to be my birthday, nobody gave a fuck about it and I spent the whole day alone. It made me want somebody took me in consideration and wish me good things.

At the same time, I think it's unconfortable and the day itself is meaningless; at least for me there is nothing to celebrate in that day.

Exactly this , seems the whole world (except my mum ) forgot my birthday still I guess it would have been hypocritical of me to celebrate being born when given the choice that would never have happened

I think its one thing to look appropriate for the occasion. (Like,I'm not going to be all smiley or so in a funeral.)but its quite another to pretend to cry for a person you don't really care for deep down. I honestly find that not just insincere,but incredibly disrespectful.

On grandfather's funeral,I didn't shed a tear. I never really knew the guy in all honesty,but I did pay my due respect.

Mom threw a fit because I didn't want to invite her relatives. No one wants to be constantly reminded they're adopted especially on your birthday by fucked up relatives who thrives on gossip. No one remembers now which I'm happy about.
