• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

The question is simple; no matter if you are no longer practicing, choose the religion you have been taught.

Feel free to comment.

Oh interesting! I've added the "Pagan" option so you can choose it.

I've also added "Asatru" for those who believe in norse gods.

P.S. It is also possible to change vote now.

I was raised by a raging Catholic and die hard atheist. It has been an interesting journey.

I'm an atheist and an ex muslim. I think that all religions are a human construct and are clearly man made instead of being the one true religion designed by god. It's like how @FuneralCry mentions that religions only exist because human beings have the ability to think.

In the end though, I guess I wouldn't mind joining @Pluto's cat religion.

I agree. I think all religions are equally false but I think that other religions are substantially better than islam. If somebody here wants to convert into a religion, make sure that religion isn't islam

I don't know. The problem with religions is that the whole universe and truth cannot fit between one cover.

I wasn't raised in a particularly religious household. I didn't go to church much when I was younger (before going to catholic school), but I was also expected to pray every night before bed. As a result, I grew up thinking that I was Christian and believed in God. My mom considered herself to be spiritual and believes in God, though she doesn't follow organized Christianity. Then, sometime around my last two years of elementary school, I found out about atheism and switched to it not too long after. Before then, I didn't realize that not having faith or being spiritual was an option. I had only been surrounding by people who grew up following some sort of faith. I used to constantly find myself suppressing the doubts I had about the existence of God, so it was very liberating to find out that not believing in anything was an option.

I don't believe in there being any God but I also don't claim to know this for sure since the existence of a being of higher power is unknowable. Basically, my beliefs would fall more in line with agnostic atheism, though I usually just refer to myself as an atheist.

I was raised catholic, swung over to new age for a while, then gave up the ghost entirely and became atheist

Oddly , this is the highest concentration of atheists I have observed outside a social media group designed for atheists. Fascinating! I too am without a god.

To this point, I think maybe it's because religious people are less likely to talk about suicidal ideation because of a bigger taboo. Also many religions, at least abrahamic ones, are very against self determination.
