  • Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

My brain keeps cycling back around to this question. Given my mental state i'm here on SS and other various "support" groups.

Everyone is a little different of course but there is huge theme I see of people being and/or feeling alone. Throw in a dash of various mental health issues and/or personal life stressors and that's basically everyone's story. I don't say it like that to diminish anyone's feeling, life can be crushing and I above most others get that. My point is just that despite all our differences there are a really large number of themes that apply to most of us.

So anyone with internet can figure out what types of things are already available and the same with us having themes of issues there are themes as to why we cannot find something to walk us into wellness.

What do you think "might" help you in some small way that is currently not available and/or not readily available?

Not like I dont have money so I cant do this, but tangible things that could/should exist that might personally help you.

For instance - For me I would without question simply benefit from something to do that mandated interaction but skipped small talk nonsense i.e. a toastmasters club is the one thing I would really like to try but closest one is a little to far away.

What is yours?

Tangible things: medication for mental health problems (beyond the basic SSRI/mood stabilizers/etc), communal living opportunities

Intangible things: more sincere acknowledgement that signicant emotional differences can be extremely debilitating, less attempts to try to "cheer people up" with positivity (when it's obvious its not helping the person),

I did shrooms when i was younger, great experience every time. I think i'd actually be scared to try again but, I do want to try microdosing but im like an old hermit and dont know where to get drugs

Curious if your take on medication beyond ssri's also includes recreational drugs/ or simply something that does not exist?

Always thought communal living might have been beneficial also,

Definitely include "recreational drugs". I actually have ketamine, from my doctor. It doesn't help much, but it gives relief for about an hour at a time.

Definitely include LSD and other associated substances.

I actually do know someone I could get them from, but it would be awkward and I've never done them before, so would need someone there. I get scared easily.

For me, what could help would be access to medications other than the usual SSRI's. I would like easier access to psychoactive drug treatments such as Psilocybin and Ketamine, in a clinical environment. I'm not talking about it street drugs, I'm talking about the drug in it's purest, therapeutic form. I also think easier access to in-patient facilities (UK). I've known suicide attempts to not even get you referred.

What would also help would be people not saying they are 'depressed' because they have had a shit day. The way people overuse the word 'depressed' nowadays, has totally trivialised genuine, medically diagnosed depressive disorders. More education is needed I think.

seems alternative drugs is a popular thing which makes sense we have the ability to truly alter perceptions but it's all "bad"
