• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

like the title says: im curious. do you plan on going through the effort of scrubbing your accounts, search history, photo album, etc. clean- or just CTB while leaving everything behind?

personally, im the former. i wanna make sure theres nothing too embarrassing out there when im gone lol. ive already gone and deleted a lot of old accounts that i made as a kid, as well as going through all my photos and conversations, even my playlists... i know nothing is ever truly gone from the internet- but unless someone is suuuper hardcore looking for info on me- i dont wanna make it easy.

as a part 2: will you also delete your SaSu account or leave it up?

I was just searching this question b/c in NYC (where I intend on taking SN) treats every death as a homicide unless the person was elderly & sickly or died in a hospital w/ medical professionals in the room. That sucks! They're so nosey.

So i was planning on bringing my therapy journal & my 2nd phone to the hotel w/ me & leaving it open w/ Safari tabs on nothing but suicidal Google searches.

SaSu will remain. Hopefully this account remains anonymous. This website gets enough blame.

I'm leaving my primary phone home.

Hopefully that's enough for their silly investigation b/c i won't delete everything since there's always a possibility of surviving (the human body is fragile & resilient at the same time wtf) & if i survive i'll need my things!

I deleted chat histories. Let's clean up my Facebook account. But I won't rule out the fact that my friends will know about my death. For smart devices, I destroy the cards and restore the factory settings

Personally, I wouldn't care enough to do anything. I'd be dead, right? Not like any of it will matter. I deserve to have a bunch of embarrasing shit spread around after I die anyways.

I've spent a lot of time purging memories of the past. I've had to destroy a fair number of journals throughout the past few years due to my mother being nosey. I've deleted pictures of people who are no longer part of my life. I've wiped away a lot of old accounts and deleted a lot of stories I wrote as a kid. I can't imagine there's much to delete anymore; I'm running out of things to hide.

Honestly, I don't care whether everything is found or not. I'm sure it will be an awful experience for the person who has to see my horrible taste in memes, but I don't have much to delete, besides getting SaSu out of my browsing history.

I'm onboard with this approach. Possibly there's some sort of life [existence ] after death where I wish I would have done differently but I'm thinking that's not the case. I'm of the mindset to just leave everything out there for anyone who wants to, or cares to, sift through it have at it.

There's this thing that I often did which I called "social suicide." It's something that became a habit. Whenever I felt that my I had been stagnating on a social platform I would delete the account and restart a new identity again. Left a lot of people but also got to meet new ones. On the positive, it was a fresh restart and minimizes doxxing. On the negative, having to constantly restart can be often exhausting, lonely and miserable.

I was on the phpbb forums back in the days when they were the main thing to go to. Did also gfx and sotws.

Overall, I do not regret the decision even if I miss certain people I cannot contact anymore since my paradigm on life became irrevocably existential. I don't have the energy nor care to a live a "life" anymore. I'm jaded about life.

Honestly, I don't post anything I might have to take down later. I'm also very much a "Here I am, like it or not" person, so I really don't care how others see me. Also, also I'll be dead, I won't care what judgement comes my way.

Hopefully someone else enjoys my porn collection when they find it. 🤷

i live in nyc myself, it definitely does suck. making sure to have it as obvious as possible that it was your own choice... very important

police, if they investigate your death can get past the passcodes easily. im not entirely sure if it can happen, but my biggest worry is a police investigation where they release all the info to my family..

im a bit of a different way, i also like to do the same. at least with my current social accounts/activity. i want to show my most authentic self while not saying anything ill regret. and yes it wont matter when im dead... but thinking about it now at least, it worries me.

My online footprint don't really matter, but I wanted my brother to erase my entire laptop if I succeed. But Maybe that is too much to ask, so I am still thinking what to do. The problem is surviving and having deleted my stuff...

Probably deactivate social media accounts, delete browsing history, clean the laptop and phone. Will leave this account open till the end and make sure there is no trace back to the site before departure. I doubt anyone will go through too much trouble to investigate my devices and they won't have access to the passwords anyways.

I don't have any photos or personal information online and I use a fake name everywhere, so all of my social media and everything is untraceable to me. I will just take my laptops to the store to get the hard drives removed, and smash everything, including my phone, then donate the computers to someone in need.

besides my hard drive being encrypted with veracrypt, ill probably delete all my socials ( i dont use them anyway ), clear out my dms + emails and mainly get rid of discord

to any1 out there that wants no one on their pc after they ctb, id recommend encrypting your C: drive with veracrypt :)

I don't really care about what happens next. I hardly care about anything in the present, let alone after. They can read, share, keep and publish whatever they want. I won't be here anymore and that's the only thing that matters to me.

To be honest I don't really care. They can search and look all they want, but I doubt they will. Nobody gives a single fuck about my existence. My phone and laptop would probably be thrown away. My whole life is useless, I don't matter to anyone.
Nobody loves me.

Oh shit, thanks for the heads up. But why would they investigate it if it is obvious that it is a suicide?

depends on your method and where you live, but they wont always settle with just suicide and no investigation.
for example, as mentioned above nyc will investigate a suicide as a homicide first. but if you dont live in nyc: if you ctb in a remote location, or using an uncommon method- even with a suicide letter present they will investigate, especially if you dont have a history of depression/attempts on record.
people have been murdered and staged as a suicide before.

if none of that applies to you, it should be fine tho.

i'd recommend encrypting your drive with veracrypt; i'm pretty sure the police can't get past veracrypt encryption. that's what i've done with my pc. as for phones, i'm not really sure, but i guess just destroying it would work. if you decide to set up encryption, make sure to use something only you know—avoid common passwords. i used a sentence with a couple numbers that only i know.

everything comes down to the complexity of your password though. veracrypt cant be cracked.

I would delete but I think they would need a warrant to search right? Or reasonable need to search. If an adult is leaving a note, then I don't really see why.

I'm very paranoid about privacy, i only talk to people through E2E encrypted apps like signal and session, i also use keepass, every important in my device are encrypted, i imagine any investigators will have a hard time trying to extract anything useful from my devices since i made it intentionally impossible or as hard as possible, so i'm not worried

I plan on clearing most things besides important memories and pictures of my late pet. I enjoy keeping most things private so I don't want anyone to know much. But mainly, I don't want any second guesses or question marks anywhere. I just want everything to feel stress free especially at the end, you know?

I don't care enough to destroy my hard drives or delete accounts. In a sense, since I spend most of my time on the computer, it is a reflection of myself in the files I created, modified and saved. If they really want to dig into my computer files, then I don't mind, it's not my problem, I'm dead. However, I will try to delete all traces that point to this forum and suicide-related sites to avoid making anybody problems.
