I've attempted hanging in the past, But the best I could get was a black out for a couple of minutes. It was the strangest experience. It was the morning, I got dressed and just thought why not, I relaxed into the loop I had already set up, closed my eyes and all I remember was my ears ringing then nothing. I slowly gained back consciousness despite the belt still being tied around my neck and as I wearily opened my eyes I remember auditory hallucinations like incoherent yelling and past conversations playing in my ears, I swear I even heard a "get up!" being yelled. Slowly there after my brain all within 1 second was just like "Holy shit your dying" and then I instinctively stood up, my body, hands especially were all tingly and my vision and senses began restoring. It was not how I imagined it but it was also strangely comforting and reassuring. I never imagined I could hallucinate like that.

Unfortunately, I never had an 'experience' experience. Only ever managed to somewhat painfully cut off or put pressure on my air-ways instead of my arteries. Partial hanging is really hard.

Do you think you had 'jerked' around or moved prior to gaining back conscious?

No I don't think I did, I just slowly opened my eyes and then it all came back. The reason I even woke up was likely just cause it was a bad setup, l wasn't even suspended in the air, I had it tied to my closets clothing rack and I was just slouching into the knot. I could still breathe prior to blacking out but I was holding my breath, then when I lost consciousness my bodies instinct to keep me alive probably took over, and I began breathing. Oh and that's something I didn't mention, that when I first woke up I was wheezing and coughing very quietly.

If you would have hanged full you would probably be dead now.

I keep attempting partial hanging, and it always progresses to the point where my vision starts to darken and my body feels incredibly weak, but I never actually lose consciousness or experience convulsions. I believe I'm either not applying pressure to the correct location, or not using enough force, because it begins to choke me out if I try to increase the pressure on the rope past a certain point, which might be because of the rope itself. I suspect, at this stage, I subconsciously think of it as a method for reducing my suicidal ideations, rather than an actual attempt at suicide, though I honestly don't know.
