An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.
Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.
most of us have social media/online accounts that we signed up for during our life. emails, videogame accounts, professional accounts. will you be wiping everything clean before you go, or do you want your online self to stay immortalized forever? (until the servers shut down, obviously lol)

I will be keeping my accounts up as I can't be bothered to delete them and would still like to be able to provide to others after I am dead and if they are interested in me, they can look through my info.
Given that most sites remove inactive accounts after specific period of time, that immortality would last 2-3, maybe 5 years.
As for the question, i'll answer with abbreviations - tbh idgaf. I don't feel overly attached to my online presence and don't care much what happens to it after i die.

honestly planning to leave my social media accounts active as like some archive of sorts for however long they stay active
and any game accounts ive been slowly letting my sibling use my accounts more often so they have the log ins, ill leave all of that little stuff to them
I've always kept my social media use minimal and/or anonymous since around 2012 and have deleted pretty much most of my accounts by now. I don't care what happens with my accounts like on this website.
i'm a naturally private person, so i don't have much of a social presence to clean up. i would be absolutely amazed if anyone could guess my laptop password, much less my other passwords beyond that. thus, i think leaving things as they are will be alright. anything with identifying or personal information is extremely difficult to reach without being me lol
I haven't had Facebook in over a year, and I'm not a member of any other social media site. SaSu is the only social media I interact on.
When I know my time is near, I will delete my account here, and burn my phone until it's nothing but ashes. I plan to leave nothing for anyone to find, and let them wonder what happened. I also want to protect SaSu, which is why I'm destroying my phone.
i'll leave them up, a few friends of mine have passed (either through suicide or otherwise) and it's nice to be able to go back through old posts and messages to reminisce and remember them.
it makes it easier when i miss them, so i'll do the same for those that may miss me. also, less effort lol
that's actually an interesting thing to think about
if you manage to CTB under what most would call mysterious circumstances, law enforcement and your family members will look to your online presence to try and make sense of things,
and i need you to fully hear me out on this, there are significant chances that in their interpretation of your presence you will be misrepresented **massively**, if that's something that matters to you, then you have 2 options:
1-write a specific goodbye message and make sure your semantics are fucking immaculate,
2-delete all your accounts before you go through with it
for me, i can't be bothered to do either so i'll just leave it at that
I just deleted certain, uhm, "unsavory" parts of it and that's it, I'll leave my passwords to my mother and a very closed group of friends so they can browse anything they want and find answers for whatever was left unanswered.
I haven't decided yet whether I leave it up or delete it completely, there can be two possible outcome for me. Either everyone will make fun of me or just pretend that i never existed so i don't know whether i will leave it up or not.
I'm wondering about this, too. Does it really matter? What would be the harm in leaving everything? I mean, there might be a few people who might want to go back and "remember" me, but in all reality how much of a factor is that overall? Obviously I won't care when I'm gone, but will it harm anyone else? I can't think of any reason it would be a problem, but the more I research the ctb process overall, and the more I learn about the internet environment (as an old person and someone who doesn't even make digital friends easily) the more I realize I don't know.
