  • Hey Guest,

An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UK’s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.

Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.

One of the main reasons is how our brain operates.

Our brain cannot multitask. We are aware of one thought at a time. We are observers of what lies in our unconscious brain, primarily drawing from our working memory. Just by reading something sad, our brain redirects all its attention to the negative aspects of life, with only dark thoughts reaching the conscious mind. Our brains are irrational.

If someone discovers reasons to live, it would be beneficial for him to write those reasons down and display them in a visible place.

That's not ideal, the brain stops taking the written thoughts seriously. After a while, the brain deems such thoughts insignificant, even though they are very rational. The brain favors irrationality. It employs many defense mechanisms. The ego wants something, so it encloses you in a safe bubble to avoid harm.

That's why it's best to change our deepest beliefs, for example those we've had since childhood. When faced with reality, the brain produces thoughts that align with these deep-seated beliefs. We seek confirmation of our deepest convictions. After changing these beliefs, you might even stop visiting this forum. Even if someone were to visit the forum again, it would be for an entirely different purpose than before.

Some of these beliefs make sense even if they are negative, but many of these beliefs are wrong and make our lives difficult.

I don't know a better way to reconstruct the deepest, unconscious beliefs than therapy, for example bibliotherapy.
