So Ive been on this forum lurking around reading posts more than i care to admit and Ive noticed something that I was curious about. Why is it, that if so many of you want to ctb, you care the state your found in or the condition of your body (outside of trying for organ donation)? I wonder because at least for me, i just want a quick relatively painless way out. Some of these methods arent the prettiest but i wont care because at that point ill have ctb. So why do you care or not care about the state of your body after ctb?

I think those people have selfless reasons for wanting their body in a particular way... Not wanting to shock people, letting family be able to have an open casket... Not letting body go to waste by donating organs

My grand poppa killed himself by stepping in front of a train.
Identifying the body was harrowing and caused a lot of pain for the family.
We might not care for ourselves but we don't want to spoil it for everyone else.

Sorry to hear, that must have been terrible. I forget about body IDs as my family lives apart from me.

I care because somebody has to ID the body and I'm not planning on CTB at home in my house where my family will find me immediately. I think it might help to minimize the trauma to whoever happens to find my body, seeing a dead body that looks (relatively) okay versus seeing a body with their head blown off by a shotgun, for instance. Now that could be totally off-base, but I have no way of knowing... and the less pain I can inflict upon the world with my exit the better.

It's a good question, I for instance would like to know how stay a corps after jumping. I don't intend to do this is more a morbid curiosity I believe...
I don't care what shape my body is in.. I've thought about decapitating myself using the car and rope method, and it kind of makes me laugh thinking about my severed head rolling on the ground while stunned bystanders shriek and scream while watching it roll

Truthfully I don't care how my body ends up, I just want it cremated.
