• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

Hello. I live in a country where LGBT is banned, and its propaganda is even more so. 10 years ago, most people, if they saw such people, would start laughing at them, and in the worst case - they could beat them up. Now, it seems, people have become more loyal to them.
But what is happening in your America? I see in the news that almost all media, if they do not defend the rights of LGBT, then do not say anything bad. Do they throw stones at you when they see how you, being a man, try to look like a woman (or vice versa)? Do they humiliate you on the street, calling you bad names? At school, were you ridiculed in class? What exactly is happening that makes you incredibly suicidal?
Regarding Trump: what exactly did he do that you hate him? Is he telling people to hunt you?
I sincerely do not know what the real situation is in your country now, and therefore it would be interesting to read your comments :)

i think support for the LGBT community in america is on a slow decline, but not everywhere. Disney recently removed a scene from a future movie coming out that featured a transgender character. probably due to the "culture war" currently going on in america. they dont want any backlash, since child transition is being heavily opposed by parents and right wing voters.

more and more gen z and gen alpha children seem to be falling into spaces online where LGBT is looked upon negatively. this might influence bullying in schools.

as for the donald trump question, i cant speak for all people who hate him, but most people hate him because of his supporters. he may not OUT RIGHT say anything racist, misogynistic, homophobic, etc, but the culture he created around his supporters and fans is often upheld by these beliefs.

personally, i dislike him for essentially getting away with sexual assault, cheating on his wife, and the things he says about his own daughter... unacceptable in my opinion.

Also he has lied and said they are sending your kids to school and coming back a different gender.
I'm sure there have been other lies, maybe not by him but the far right about trans people, drag queens and gay people in general.
The LGBTQ community has always been subjected to ridicule, hate speech and violence.
With Maralardo coming back the extremists will feel even more free to attack them. 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Never been assaulted for being trans or gay but I've always been in fear when I use the bathroom or gym locker room, not to mention being born with a female body, many people assume I'm female, which puts me in even more danger, if someone wanted to sexually assault me. I've been threatened just because I was openly trans. I fear being in places alone, but usually at night it's the worst. And there have been many cases of transgender people being attacked brutally, raped, or murdered. Never been bothered publicly but growing up, school kids were awful to me, even friends that 'supported' me. Lots of jokes just making fun of me, or mocking me for correcting them when they say 'she' instead of 'he'. Have also been told I'm 'not a man', 'woman', 'trap'. Recently had to listen to a professor repeat common transphobic phrase said by extreme conservatives 'facts don't care about your feelings', meaning 'your biological genitalia equals to what you are, it doesn't matter what you say or how you feel'. It doesn't really effect my suicide though, but I would definitely preferred if people would just treat me like a person. I also feel like I don't fit in a lot because of it, mostly amongst other guys my age. It's kind of like I'm a girl to them, or like a freak.
Regarding Trump, he has said many hateful things about every minority you can think of, and says false stories. Besides that being awful, many of his supporters don't think for themselves, so when he says those things, they believe it. An example is, a made up story about Haitian people in America 'eating cats and dogs' of pet owners. It was a lie, but when he said this, racist people came to the streets to try and intimidate Haitians. He's also surrounded by officials who want to implement discriminatory laws, look up 'project 2025 summed up'. Even then though, there are still discrimantory laws being passed under Biden, states like Texas and Florida are examples of the worst outcome, and even in progressive states, discriminatory laws are passed. But that's because the government as a whole is a danger to people. That's a whole different rabbithole. Also regarding trump, he has worked closely with a now dead-convict, Jeffrey Epstein, who owned a private island and trafficked and sexually assaulted young girls. It's said he has participated in those actions, and it's hard to not believe when he's said sexual comments about his daughter and many woman around him. He's a creep and bigot, and unfortunately most of the country voted for him. He's helped divide people, friends, family and that's the whole point of bigotry, creating false enemies. Seeing trump flags in my town made me not want to talk to anyone, it's like the modern nazi flag, it makes me think they are bigots.

I can't speak to why other LGBTQ+ members here are suffering, because America is a huge and diverse nation so people have very different experiences depending on their environment. In my case I've spent most of my life living on the West Coast where it's liberal and very LGBTQ+ friendly. Whenever I've traveled elsewhere it was to big cities that were just as liberal and LGBTQ+ friendly. So I can't say I've suffered personally, but that's not true of everyone.

Whenever I've traveled east things change fast as soon as you get to conservative states. The second you cross the border from Washington to Idaho you can see the difference: pride flags dissappear, guns are everywhere, and diversity plummets. It definitely makes me uncomfortable, and I've hidden anything queer or gender-nonconforming in my appearance because I didn't want to be harassed. Big chunks of the middle and southern regions of the country are like that, and I imagine LGBQT+ people are suffereng a lot more in those areas.

Why do people hate Trump? I mean the guy is practically begging to be hated, that's part of his routine. He's an entertainer, he has to put on a show that captures audiences and keeps them engaged. Every great drama needs a conflict, in this case between Red and Blue sides. In order to be the hero of the Red side he has to play the villian of the Blue side, so he does everything he can to woo his Red supporters and rile up his Blue haters. He doesn't quite say his supporters should hunt other people, but he comes as close as humanly possible by villifying all kinds of people he deeps unworthy.

Thank you. But don't you think that harassment, wives, etc. are his personal business, and what is much more important here, for example, is your income - which can directly affect your quality of life; or foreigners (colored), who commit a lot of crimes and because of whom your life can really be in danger? If you did not watch the news, would something change in your life personally? Would your closest neighbors immediately start treating you badly after Trump was elected? Would your salary go down? Would healthcare change? Loans and rent?

Thank you. If you don't mind, I'll ask you a few questions - which I don't want to offend you with. I just don't know the extent to which you personally and in your country perceive this.
Много шуток, которые просто высмеивают меня или издеваются надо мной за то, что я их поправляю, когда они говорят «она» вместо «он». Мне также говорили, что я «не мужчина», «женщина», «ловушка».
But if you look like a woman, are biologically a woman, your hormone distribution, fat/muscle ratio, glandular function, genitals, and even brain structure indicate that you are a woman - why are you offended by this? In my understanding, insulting a person and mocking is making fun of his parents, insulting his dignity, etc. But what if they are simply telling the truth?
Feelings are really important. It is desirable to respect all feelings. But if you set too many criteria and want them to be fulfilled - and at the same time these criteria go against biology - won't it become extremely difficult for people to communicate with you? They will have to filter every word...

чтобы люди просто относились ко мне как к человеку.
But they treat you normally... What else do you need? What else would you like? After all, even black people, if they are friends of white people, are joked about their skin color. As far as I know.
Interesting. Didn't know about that. Thanks.

LGBT people hate Trump because he hates us. This is what he's already vowed to do to trans people already: https://www.thepinknews.com/2024/12/23/trump-transgender-lunacy/ . His party's also made it clear that they're targeting gays and lesbians next if they succeed in getting rid of trans people.

I'm miserable as an LGBT person here because the area I live in has made it clear that I am not welcome here. Despite how much better things are here for lgbt people than some in other countries, I was still taught that homosexuality and being transgender is unacceptable at school. A couple years ago the local highschool prevented a kid to coming to school because they were transgender. The area I live in is allowed to deny healthcare if you are LGBT, so in order to have any attempt of getting HRT I had to drive an hour and thirty minutes away, only for them to deny me as well. My own father has made it clear that he does not accept me for who I am.

i mean, dont these actions reflect someones character? if your friend cheated on his wife or sexually assaulted her, or made sexual comments about his own children, would that not make you question what kind of person he really is? if he has strong moral character and ethics?

and america has also became more isolated after the trump effect. no one talks to or trusts their neighbors anymore. community, as a concept, is basically gone here. people will lose their shit over a Kamala sign in their neighbors yard, or throw a drink on someone in public over their red MAGA hat. people in america do not care about policy or what someone actually wants to do. its all about vibes. im not saying thats right. but it is the case.

also elon musk is actually the president, not trump.

But don't you think that harassment, wives, etc. are his personal business,
While that technically is his personal business, it tells you what type of person he is and that's not the type of person who you want running your country. If they treat women like garbage in their personal lives, they're going to see ALL women that way. If they cheat on their wife, they have no problem with broken promises and corruption, which extends to laws and business dealings, etc.
If you did not watch the news, would something change in your life personally? Would your closest neighbors immediately start treating you badly after Trump was elected?
Yes, actually. Having someone like that in charge emboldens the type of people he attracts. Now that the president openly speaks about how much he hates people different from him, regular people who think the same way don't feel the need to keep quiet anymore. If people in positions of power are mean and abusive, they can be too because someone more powerful than them is displaying the same behavior.
Would your salary go down? Would healthcare change? Loans and rent?
Immediately, no. But the fear is based around the possibility. Trump is unstable, irrational, unpredictable, and yet easily swayed by the last opinion in the room. If someone on twitter says something mean to him, he could get up the next morning and decide that any non cis-het people should be rounded up and jailed. Someone in a position of power could convince him anyone displaying a Pride flag should be arrested and the flags should be made illegal.

No one knows what the future holds but we know this country is about to be ruled by an angry, belligerent man whose best friends are corporate CEOs that have made billions off of exploiting people. Nothing good is going to come of this.

The Republicans and Trump are going after a very small minority, Approximately 1.14% of the nation's adult population are Trans, because they are seen an easy target. They are using it as a tool to distract people away from their corporate heist that is in motion. It's just another culture war issue that's gets enough people riled up to stop them from caring about bigger issues such as healthcare, clean air, better wages etc... You know the kinds of things that Trump doesn't care about. It's just a billionare boys club with the likes of Trump and Elon Musk in the centre!
