• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

if you have enough time to do moderate research you can resort to a method more effective.
to the question you posed: it depends entirely on your exhaust gas emission, this can differ strongly around the world. normally, cars are adjusted to catalysate carbon dioxide out which makes it impossible to reach a deadly-enough concentration.

I attempted such method with a modern car. It ran in the garage 2 hours before I made the attempt. I sat in my car for 10 minutes and each minute my heart beat harder and harder and harder. I didnt feel any loss of conciousness oncoming, so I quit. If you have an older car, you may be in luck. Its not for me though.

The answer is no, especially for modern cars (especially cars made after 1960's) since they don't emit enough CO to be lethal. This method would most likely fail, sorry to say. Instead, you would have better success rates and most likely cheaper to use the charcoal method for CO poisoning.

If you try, make sure you are along in the structure. Someone tried that here many years ago. They died but so did two people in the building that took a vacation day.

You can cut out the tailpipe. Even with a handheld saw. But the exhaust will be a lot more noisy and foul-smelling...
Have you tried leaving the car running for 20-30 min (while waiting outdoors) and then enter the room?
How bad is it inside?

Tailpipe isnt what has cut emissions, the catalytic converter does that. If the engine is fuel injected, Id say dont even try it. Again. All from personal experience.

Hmm... I thought the converter is in the pipe, that bulge and the silencer at the end. Or is it inside the engine in recent cars?

The pipe you see on the rear of every car is either a muffler tip or pipe coming from the muffler. The catalytic converter is just after the exhaust manifold in modern cars, some even have 2 cats for extra emissions. The muffler is designed to "muffle" sound. It'll always be bigger than a cat.

The cat is whats removed on many performance cars because its so restricting on engine performance. Freer flowing exhaust is a more powerful engine.
