I've tried full suspension last week. But unfortunately the ligature didn't support my weight and the rope snapped. Yes, I'm overweight. I'm 90kg 173cm height. The rope I'm using is a nylon rope. Since I'm a poor bloke I can't afford another rope and so I'll have to do with what I have. After reading the hanging thread which recommended partial hanging (https://sanctioned-suicide.net/threads/how-to-hang-yourself.1183/), I've decided to go with that route. The support I am using is strong. I am using a slipknot with the knot at the nape of the neck.

To test how I would feel, I got into position and leaned forward. I immediately felt blood rushing into my head and the pressure build up. I held that position for about 25 seconds. I stood up once I had the feeling that my head would burst with the pressure. According to the guide, it should've taken only 15 seconds tops for me to lose consciousness, but it didn't. What am I doing wrong? Even in this video, the girl loses her consciousness in 10 seconds (). Is it because my neck is too thick (which I don't think is the case) and I'm compressing only the jugular vein and not the carotid artery. I need help from someone. Please. I can't miss the next bus.

If you feel too much pressure building up in the head then yes, it sounds like you are only compressing the jugulars and not the carotids so that blood can get into your head but can't come back out. You will have to put more pressure in order to compress the carotids. Did you manage to pass out during full suspension or was it the same feeling before the rope snapped?

My experience with partial is exactly the same as yours. Here is the thread I made not too long ago, people have responded with advices: https://sanctioned-suicide.net/threads/difficulty-with-doing-partial.9120/

I think what we're both doing wrong is compressing the veins instead of the arteries. Blood can go in, but can't get out. Hence the god-awful pressure. I watched the video, it makes compressing the arteries look so easy, but I just can't do it properly. :( But I still keep trying...

The rope snapped immediately when I tried full suspension. So I didn't pass out.

Oh... shit I wish I could send you some good rope, I got mine today at a sailors shop. I said it is for a swing and needs to hold a lot of weight. It's nylon, soft and flexible but really strong. I payed only around 2 euros for 3m. Are you sure you can't get a better rope?

I can't. I am completely broke and getting a good quality rope from where I am from is next to impossible.
