• Hey Guest,

An update on the OFCOM situation: As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. OFCOM, the UKā€™s communications regulator, has singled out our community, demanding compliance with their Online Safety Act despite our minimal UK presence. This is a blatant overreach, and they have been sending letters pressuring us to comply with their censorship agenda.

Our platform is already blocked by many UK ISPs, yet they continue their attempts to stifle free speech. Standing up to this kind of regulatory overreach requires lots of resources to maintain our infrastructure and fight back against these unjust demands. If you value our community and want to support us during this time, we would greatly appreciate any and all donations.

I highly doubt it. Many people would imagine a Utopia but with the human nature it would end up in a dystopia. There are people who sympathize with anarchy. There are idealized versions of anarchy similar notions of socialism. (personally I am a socialdemocrat but I don't think socialism actually works. I am in favor of social Democracy with a tamed capitalism).

I think some people consider anarchy to be cool because there was no ruler and no rules. You could Do whatever you want which is not true. There would be cartells and drugs gangs fighting each other all the time. Even if you think you yourself would be a bad ass motherfucker believe me there are sicker people than you in this world. People who are extremely brutal and sadistic. Torturers for fun. As a business. People who murdered as children and were raised only for this purpose. If anarchy rules it is far more likely it will end up as Somalia. A failed state. And if you want anarchy go there. I don't want to live there.

I don't know because I don't believe in people's ability to self-regulate. Maybe people really need guidance.

Politics as a concept is okay, it's just those fucking shitty career politicians who ruin it.

in my opinion what you describe as anarchy is already a large part of the world we're living in, and not only in Somalia

except cartels and brutality can also be made legal (into a State, basically)

I think we'll need it in the future still. But maybe less career politicians, as SVEN said. There's one in my area who'll retire soon and he's pushing prestige projects to be his legacy now.

A world without politics it's as world without humans.

Politics is not harmful by itself. Like a hammer it can be used to fix and or destroy.

A better world is a world with better politics, the issue here is:

What's better politics?

What I call heaven, for you might be hell.

Would a world without humans be better? Yes.

Absolutely, but only get rid of the politics I disagree with. Anything I agree with politically is not "politics" it's just common sense. šŸ˜‰

This question doesn't make sense. Politics is just people deciding how to run things, so everything you do is part of a political system. It's not a choice. You can ignore politics but politics won't ignore you, that's why so many on this site are unable to die. The only way to not have politics would be to die, because that way nothing would be run. Unfortunately, bad actors are the overwhelming majority of this world so the resulting political system is hopeless. Tragically, many people would actually be vehemently against a utopia at least on the surface because they are desperate for the ability to hurt and control others. That's why so many politicians who want to help people get killed or suppressed.
