The reason I ask is I personally hope we become extinct. Just wondering what your guys opinion is on the subject of human extinction.
As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

That just reinforces my belief that nothing truly matters.Let's just say we never get off this planet. How cool is it to think that whatever we do here on earth will become nothing. Ceast to exist. Become star dust. All recorded footage will not exist. All human knowledge will not exist etc. as though it never happened. What a bizzare thought.

Bet the dinosaurs thought that too. But now I'm editing this because this is stupid. I just realized you were talking about the Universe, not the earth. That would be cool if there were some on other planets!Human race is probably all over the universe. So I don't think there's any chance of extinction. Earth is but a drop in the ocean of inhabited planets.
Pretty much thisI hope the hell not! We don't need to be spreading suffering to other worlds.
My opinion is life never should have evolved on earth to begin with. As long as there is life there will be perpetual suffering. The best deal would be a universe without sentience.
I do believe that we will be able to land on Mars in the near future, unless some catastrophic event wich would nearly wipe out humanity happen, like a nuclear war or super-volcano eruption. But colonising other planets is a lot more difficult than that.
Exploring planets of other solar sistems is another thing that I don't think will ever happen.
We will be stuck on our "pale blue dot", to quote Carl Sagan, for a loooong time.
YESS! This is exactly how i see things. That just reinforces my belief that nothing truly matters. View attachment 3835
The way I see it Earth is the only interesting thing in our Solar System. No catastrophic event on Earth will make Mars more habitable. Just like the rest of Solar System Mars is basically a bunch of rock without air, soil, plants or anything else. If humans are nearly wiped out here and volcanic winter sets in - last thing that will be on their minds is flying to Mars. All these outer space missions are really luxury without any practical goal.
And it really depends on whom you include in 'we'. If there are humans on other planets in Universe, and I see no reason why they aren't, then they are as integral part of 'we' as humans on Earth. So in this sense we're not stuck here on Earth, but rather all over the Universe. Distances between star systems are so great that everybody is probably confined to theirs just like we on Earth are. On some systems, like the 'trappist' one they recently discovered, there may be several habitable planets so humans from one can reach another.
P.S. just like singing-in-the-rain misread my point, I misread yours - I see now you wrote that humans will fly on Mars unless a catastrophic event happens, not if it happens.
Why do you think that there are other humans on planets outside the solar system? Do you mean humanoid creatures or the same species as ours, Homo Sapiens?
If it's the latter I don't see why you would think that honestly.
If it's because of the theory of convergent evolution I can assure you it doesn't work that way. If it's for another reason I'd be happy to hear your theory.
Same. Or else have humanity migrate to the sun by accident. Judging by how many times they get my order wrong at McDonald's, there must be at least one idiot like that working at NASA.I would like to see planet earth and the entire human race destroyed by a giant asteroid.
I'll settle for a microscopic virus if it killed every single last human being on the planet.Same. Or else have humanity migrate to the sun by accident. Judging by how many times they get my order wrong at McDonald's, there must be at least one idiot like that working at NASA.
Because I don't see why either Solar System or Earth would be unique in the entire Universe. By humans I mean creatures that make bow and arrows. And also planes, internet etc. So if they do they are humans to me regardless of other differences that may make others classify them as separate species.
Why you think it doesn't work that way? All you know are 1 star and 8 planets. Out of those 1 is inhabited. On this inhabited planet creatures of varying intellectual capacity emerged starting from lowest (insects) to highest (humans). So it did work this way in the only instance you can observe.
And then you have the rest of observable universe where scientists counted there are at least as many habitable zone exoplanets as there are grains of sand on Earth. And it's only in the observable part of Universe. So unless you have some reason to believe Earth is unique among those - then human population of Earth is a tiny fraction of the entire human population of Universe.
Sounds like an analogy for the native Americans, South America, Africa and Australia or any other indigenous peoples. But I guess that was the whole point..No.
I would instead like aliens to arrive. To call us all savages, then impose their alien laws on us. When we protest, it will just be a further sign we are savages and for our own good we will be moved into designated area that happens to be a wasteland resulting in famine disease and death. But at least we are abiding by alien laws and so less savage in their eyes.
At the same time the aliens will begin altering the planet to fully suit their needs which are directly detrimental to our own and will push the remaining wild humans out into less survivable areas condemning them to starvation as well. The aliens also make a past time of hunting them, because it is fun to do so. But due to their alien makeup they do not need to eat or drink like we do, so it is purely for fun. Making humans fight each other is also fun and entire entertainment industry's will be built around it. Some weirdo aliens will protest but it will be decided that humans are not sentient and as such can't feel pain.
Some humans will be pressed into slaves and used to build their cities until they drop dead. This is entirely fine as you can force them to breed more and they get fed and watered so it is actually a kindness.
Lastly some alien conglomerate will get together and vote to sell all the water on the planet including the water contained within all biological life. There will be new protests. The weirdos again pointing out this would end all native life on planet earth. They will be ignored as a stupid minority. There will though also be protests from the entertainment industry and human resource corporations that use humans as free labour. These arguments will be considered, even causing a partial delay and attempts at bribing officials. But eventually it will be decided the intergalactic bottom line is better served by going ahead.
Alien teleportation technology will fire up across the planet and latch onto the signature of water and beam it out to distant storage facilities where it can be traded on the intergalactic market. In that instant all native biological life on earth will end. But that is okay because various alien investors on the planet of Vogsphere will be happy.
Ah poetic justice...
