you ever feel like you've been let down your whole life by a bunch of idiots who raised you

well i am heavily into electronics math and programming but none the people around me showed any interest in the subject

when i was kid well my mother use to throw away all my electronics part that i would scavenge from old electrical equipment

i feel like the people around me have the intelligence of a monkey while i am on some next level intelligence
an average person is closer to a monkey than to a genius

Yeah. When i was a kid i was classed as "gifted" and was desperate to learn because school didnt challenge me at all, but they were anti-intellectual type people who never even bought me any books or a textbook or anything. Raised by a playstation. Now i cant function in society at all and it's hilarious to comprehend that i used to be seen as someone with high potential.

I used to feel like that when i was a kid. Not anymore. It was another sign of bad parenting that i was allowed to get such an ego, and that i probably held onto intelligence as a cornerstone of my identity because i couldnt socialise properly. In any case, it isolated me further. Natural autism or a result of parenting, who knows.

These days i know that intelligence is not well-defined, and i am not any better than anyone else. Being able to do a math exam is meaningless. We're just chimpanzees trying to mentally formulate views of society as silly social hierarchies that play with our brains as part of evolutionary selection. People living simple lives in the moment being able to appreciate people they love are the smartest in many respects.

I wish my parents were idiots, maybe then they would have been less obsessed with grades and achievement. Well only my dad really cared about that. At least them being idiots would make me being one make more sense. How did I end up such a pathetic failure if not by my own stupidity and ineptitude?

i get you. i was raised by morons so it's wasn't that hard to be smarter than them. my mom would constantly throw away my hobby related stuff and then pretend she didn't throw away or act like there was a very important reason for it to be thrown away, blame it on something. when i was 16 i realized i was smarter than my mom but again, it doesn't take much to be smarter than someone who is one of the most ignorant people i have ever known. it's crazy when they're idiots and hyper religious so they try to indoctrinate you into this crazy cult mindset and act like you're the black sheep of the family because you don't accept their cognitive dissonance and strict rules that make no sense. for example, my brother can go to college (and they'll pay for it), but i can't.

the worst part is, they spent a large portion of their time trying to convince me *i* was the stupid one. calling me the r word and all that. i was convinced for a long time that they were right.
