The lyrics are so painful and relatable, but the instrumentals behind it are so nonchalant, maybe even happy.

This is my favorite song because when I first heard it, it was the first time a song really felt it was mostly about me. I know it isn't, but no song since then has really managed to capture how I feel, like all the time. Sometimes I interpret this song as being about me wishing to save myself, but I also see it as about me longing to be with whoever I'm most recently attracted to. Some lines really stuck out most to me. "Happiness lies trapped in misery." So true.

Spoiler: Context of the song

Silver the Hedgehog's story in Sonic 06 is that he's from the future and gets tricked into believing that Sonic is the cause of the future world being so miserable. He ultimately finds out he was wrong and manages to find a way to defeat Iblis, the very demon causing all of the destruction in the world but the only way to truly stop him from regenerating is to seal him away. The only one able to do this is Blaze the Cat (don't ask how she's here when she's supposed to be from an alternate dimension and not the future). Silver objects because Blaze is his only friend (or lover if you're that kinda person) and for her to seal Iblis away she'd have to sacrifice herself. This is the reason why the song says "Happiness lies trapped in misery" because he won but at what cost? Just because that's the reason for it though doesn't mean the line doesn't feel so incredibly relevant to everything about life though.
