I read someone (who was a reliable member on here) say that zopiclone could be a good alternative to be benzo drugs, if that was all that was available?

Does anyone else know anything about this? I haze diazepam but t hey are about eight years old that I never got rid of and doubt they would be effective/safe now.

Zopliclone is a sedative that is related to benzodiazepines. From my understanding, it is chemically different but modulates the same receptors (primarily GABA-A) so it has similar effects.

I'm not sure if there is a recorded use of it in SN protocol, so this would be new territory I assume. However, it is prescribed for insomnia as it decreases sleep latency (time to fall asleep) and prevents nocturnal awakenings. Benzodiazepines are commonly prescribed for anxiety and seizures. So the medical uses for it are similar, but not the same. I don't intend to use SN, but from what I understand the purpose of benzodiazepines in the protocol are to make you fall asleep, so I assume their utility would apply. May be useful to try taking them beforehand to see how much they help you fall asleep. Excess anxiety related to carrying out the method may inhibit your ability to fall asleep, though. This would require testing and documentation to say anything for certain.

Edit: this other thread states that zopliclone should be effective.
