Hey,

To stimulate my recovery for my mental health I wanna be more social. Im taking action by going to therapy since not long ago and joining a depression support group. Since my social life is a huge part of why I'm depressed (trust issues, social anxiety) I want to meet more people to overcome this. The depression support group is great, but it is only once every few weeks, and I wanna try more stuff. Do you have any recommendations where I the chances are greater of meeting like minded people (loners, depressed, mental struggle)?

Why reducing your options to just depressed loners?

How do you feel about finding like-minded people that like stuff you also like, for example some D&D session if you are into roleplaying or trying to meet someone while playing a team sport (does not have to be close-contact, maybe volleyball?)

Also it is really brave of you to decide to take the road to recovery. Wish you all the best

SaSu.

Okay, I'm joking, but I understand why you would like people with this mindset. The reason I stuck with SaSu is because people here knew what it was to suffer, and they tried their best to welcome me, knowing that like everyone here, I am hurt and sorrowful. From there, I got to know people better and connect in other ways.

In short, I guess you want those initial connections via these three topics so you can connect more afterwards. I respect that and I hope you find a place like this besides SaSu. 🧸

Yes, SaSu ❤️

It's such a great and supportive community. No toxic positivity, no reality denial, no faking it. A space where we are seen and not scrutinized.

Meetup used to be a good way to find new folks, but it does depend on where you are. If you have any political opinions that you care about, you could also join local political parties or volunteer groups. Near me, a lot of folks are involved in cleanup efforts in public natural spaces and in helping the needy.
