"Scott Dozier twice evaded death by lethal injection against his own wishes. On Saturday afternoon, he was found hanged with a bedsheet from an air vent in his cell at Ely State Prison, Brooke Santina, a spokeswoman for the department, told NPR. Had he verbalized his desire to kill himself, she said, 'the state would have no choice but to put him on suicide watch. But he didn't say anything.'"

Pro-lifers are hilarious. This is some grade A gallows humor right here.

Yeah, while I don't condone what Dozier did at all, it's rather disgusting and horrible, I too, cannot fathom the logical irony of pro-lifers as well as the state (government) itself. I mean, basically pro-lifers think that "Hey if you kill someone or commit some super heinous crime, you deserve to die AND we will do everything we can to make sure you DIE!"

But!

If you want to kill yourself because your circumstances suck, you have terminal illness or permanent disability which of course makes your life suck badly, "You can't kill yourself! Life is good, life is beautiful!!! You are just depressed, you aren't in your right state of mind, (insert more bullshit platitudes), etc." I'd chalk it up to just hypocrisy and the fact they are power hungry, control freaks, but other than that, I don't know their logic (if there is even one)...
