• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

You know what, I'll add the entire HP series to the list. I think it's a shame that I've never read the series :O
That's practically criminal dude. Even I, hater of sci-fi, have read the series a few times.

Sigh... I'll buy the whole series from a bookstore I guess 😄

Ooh... I was supposed to read all of Berserk at some point too...

I'm one of the last dinosaurs to use a library😄 I lived a block away from one when I was little so.. whatever.
I didn't know what Berserk was; afaic, manga and anime are sci-fi. (= hate)😁
Oh, forgot, my background pfp is from the last movie😁 It's literally "Death."

I heard about that book. I'll add it to the list.

I've added all books in this thread to the list.

The belljar by Sylvia Plath

This was so good. I've read it twice and it's one of a few books where I feel gutted when I'm done reading it.
The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury. It's an anthology about colonization on Mars following a nuclear war on earth. Each story is standalone so you could theoretically read it out of order or only read a few of the stories if you wanted to.

The Good Earth by Pearl S Buck. Soooo vividly detailed it really takes you out of your head for a little bit.

Pedro Paramo by Juan Rulfo - it's a surrealist story about a man who goes looking for his estranged father. It's so good.

Hey guys, I have finished The Body Keeps The Score. Damn it's a LONG, dense book, and I kept taking notes of topics I wanted to revisit for my review. I will add a full review of the book in my status post tonight.

One of the first posts recommends Haruki Murakami, and I'd like to strongly recommend this as well. He's got a lot of bangers, but the one I keep rereading is "A Wild Sheep Chase." The last portion of that book always touches me with a feeling of utter loneliness but weirdly also comfort. Probably my second favorite I've read by him is "The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle."

Animal Farm is also good. Some books are more equal than others though 😉

I'd like to add the book Drunk: How We Sipped, Danced, and Stumbled Our Way to Civilization to my list, adding it here so that I can remember to actually put it in the TBR list.

I've read a few already (crossed out), but I'll add these too. I started NLH a while back but never finished it, I will resume it once I catch up with the TBR list.

Right now I'm writing a gargantuan review of this book - "tonight" was a very very oblivious estimate back then. The review is going to be over 4k words lmfao.

it's a very sweet and nostalgic book for me. I always reread it whenever I'm feeling down and am in need of some comfort.

I read how to kill your family recently. Really enjoyed that. The ending was great.
