Hi, my SN arrived yesterday and I'm living with my parents so I can't hide it for too long. I have enough money to rent a hotel room so I would like to know what I should do and what I should not do. Primarily concerned about them knocking on my door a few minutes/hours after I pass out. How can I prevent this? Most hotels here don't have a do not disturb sign

I'm very sorry it came to this, why would they knock though? You'd just be like any other guest who rented a room, right?

The idea is to do late at night, after or around 12 am. When most of the people would be asleep.

Cleaning for example

The problem is most hotels make you check out at around 12 PM so if I booked one night and did it at 12 AM they'll come in at 12 PM which would be 12 hour time. Is it enough? I read you should be free for like 24 hours

I've been in a hotel recently, stayed for about 5 days and not once did they come for routine cleaning. Typically you must explicitly call them if there is a mess to be cleaned otherwise I don't think they show up at all until your stay is up, then they come to tidy up the room for the next guests.

Yeah I guess you are right and I think they won't like care much if you didn't open the door for them for cleaning right?

Probably just assume you're asleep or occupied with something else, maybe leave a message for you, and be on their way. They would NEVER force their way in or go in without permission, unless, like I said, your stay is up, then they will likely come in assuming you are checked out or in the process of checking out.

Thank you very much. One last question, do you think they'd be suspicious if I didn't leave my room for 24 hours or would they not care?
I plan on going there at around 12 PM and attempt an hour later so they will definitely check me out at 12 PM the next day but I'm afraid they might get suspicious before the 24 hour period. I can't really book for 2 days because that would be over my budget

I couldn't imagine a world where they are monitoring YOU specifically, like "oh this guy hasn't left his room at all since he booked it" very doubtful especially with all the other guests staying. You said you could only book a day which makes the time frame a little smaller but Ill bet you'd be okay.

I hope you can find peace bro, please be gentle with yourself and take you're time, and if you're not ready yet, don't go. I wish you solace in whatever you choose. Truly.

I'm sorry I'm just overthinking it a bit. Thank you a lot

That's precisely what I was going to say. You are overthinking it. There's nothing necessarily wrong with too much planning or thinking though. I always say in regards to CTB that you should only do it once and get it right the first time.

Wish you peace brother,If you decide to go through with it.

Tell the front desk that you do not want any cleaning and would like to not be disturbed during your stay.

I'm not very good at talking to people. Can you help me with how I should say it so that they don't get suspicious?

"Hi. I'm in room xxx and would like to request no housekeeping and not to be disturbed at all during my stay. Thank you."

It will be okay. If you feel the need to explain just say something about "trying to recoup" or "totally burnt out, gonna sleep all day." They won't be suspicious because like half of hotel guests make that request because who wants to be disturbed in their hotel room?
