  • Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

Too many regrets

I have longtime habits with these two. They felt good when I was younger but now they seem to be causing my anxiety, which is almost unbearable.

Has anyone gotten off? How did it help you?

I think caffeine triggers nicotine cravings. I'm trying to wean off coffee first because I don't think I would crave much without it.

In addition to lowering anxiety, I think this will help my cardio performance and improve circulation. I feel cold all the time, wearing sweatshirts when others wear t-shirts. I think I've figured out why.

quit nicotine not of my own volition, my caffeine problems have reached new levels in recent years, becoming embarrassing at times. think like tweaking on 600 mg just to feel like a real person.

if i had to give advise despite myself, don't go cold turkey. if you've been drinking two energy drinks a day, pick a day to do only one. next week pick two days. and you can gradually reduce yourself to one cup of coffee, or quit altogether.

you've got this!

You're spot-on with your assessment and plan. Caffeine increases feelings of anxiety and nicotine decreases them in most people, which is why it feels like the former creates cravings for the latter. This is well studied and a common thing taught in pharmacology courses for healthcare-related degrees. I would recommend stopping or lowering your caffeine intake first, then try to wean off the nicotine. There are a bunch of products available for that. Removing both will also improve circulation. I wish you the best in your self-improvement!

You could start buying chewing nicotine cum. It works pretty well for the cravings, and after a couple of weeks you could just stop using it. Then you could occasionally smoke or vape other herbs that don't have nicotine. I usually smoke just chamomile and pot with pipe, but I was planning on getting a vaporizer for x-mas. Black tea is also healthier than coffee if you wanna try switching.

Try to replace it with tea. But tea is much weaker than coffee so make it strong and drink plenty of it. And don't use tea bags, use real tea. When you've switched to tea, quitting it is much easier than quitting coffee. And even if you don't quit it, tea doesn't induce anxiety (because theanine).

If you crave the coffee taste, you can simply have a decaf.

I was able to quit multiple times through tea, but always returned back after couple months.

Cold turkey is also possible but you might become a zombie for couple weeks and then have very low energy for months.

I can't really help with nicotine. I've quit many years ago but that was because of FEAR šŸ˜€ .. Fear can be extremely powerful. It can control you. And in this way, it steered me in a somewhat desirable direction. It was still painful to quit but with that fear it was simply much harder to keep smoking, so I've quit. After nearly 10 years I still don't smoke.

I was down to 8-10mg/day in pouches then bought a disposable vape and started sucking on it all day. Terrible choice.

Right now, no headaches from one big morning cuppa. I think I could shrink it to my smaller mug and still be okay. 1 to 0 is the hard move.
