Sorry, ruined this post earlier with accidental edits.

In regards to charcoal method for CO poisoning..

In a newer car (2016-19), it is still necessary to seal up the contours of the doors/windows, like with duct tape? Since newer cars have less air leakage, wondering if it can be done without it
Cuz that sounds like a lot of work

No, it's actually best not to seal it too well.
Some O2 is necessary in order to keep the coals burning, you don't want to create a completely air tight seal.
Just make sure there are no large gaps, especially around lights, etc... and make sure all vents are closed.
