DMC and the Canada Post strike

Finally, I got an update on my order. It is finally in Canada but it being presented at customs for review. I'm feeling nervous now and afraid that they will repossess it. I'm so close to to salvation

The review took a little under 36 hours for my package according to Aftership. You should be fine but yeah it is nerve-wracking.

It was months because Canada had a postal strike. I ordered back on November 18.

thanks for the updates @yearofluigi i finally got mine today :) I'm not sure why it was presented for review twice... Either way, on December 31st when it was up for review the second time, the review took nearly two weeks. It was released Jan 11 and I got it today Jan 14. The package is in that typical yellow paper type of parcel with yellow tape that says that it was opened by CBSA... No black packaging like everyone else said but the main SN packaging inside looks intact and I think still sealed but I'm not sure as I haven't opened that yet. Thought I'd share that for anyone else is is worried about customs.

I ordered November 1st I think but had a few weeks of payment issues so it didn't ship out until Nov 26. They might be opening your package too then if the review is taking that long. If it took almost two weeks like mine yours will prob be released Jan 18 or sometime around then

That must be a relief :D The stuff about the packaging is really interesting as well. I wonder how much the CBSA was able to figure out the package (they probably knew it wasn't concrete hardener :P). I think it's good news that they didn't do a welfare check or confiscate the package even after inspecting it manually.

Update, it has been stuck in customs for nearly a month.
Just my luck! Other people got their SN but my is stuck and will probably be confiscated. I hate this life and cannot escape from it.

I ordered SN from DMC on November 14 and now I'm in a difficult situation since Canada Post is on strike and I used a Canada Post Flex Delivery location (basically a PO box) as my shipping address.

Here's what has happened so far:

• November 14: I made my order
• November 15: Canada Post went on strike
• November 16: I emailed DMC asking how the strike might affect my order and if I could change my shipping address
• November 17:
  • DMC emailed back, saying he didn't know how the strike would affect my order and asking if I wanted to change my shipping address.
  • I said I'd like him to withhold from shipping my order until I've found another address. (I don't want to use my home address because I live with my parents, so I was planning to look into other PO boxes.)
  • The order shipped anyway that evening >_<
  • I haven't talked to DMC since then. (I guess I can ask him for clarification, but I'd feel kinda stupid asking "hey I know it said it shipped but like did it actually ship???")

I've been checking the tracking information periodically and right now it says, "The postal item has been processed at the office of exchange and handed over for further transportation to the destination country." I've been back and forth with Canada Post and Amazon customer service (I had made an Amazon order before the strike to test the PO box) and no one has any idea what's going on. I've heard that Canada Post is the only carrier that's allowed to ship to their own PO boxes, but I haven't been able to get a simple answer as to whether my package will be delayed, lost, sent back, etc. I just want to know what's happening to my SN

So, uh... Does anyone know what's going on? Any chance the package will go to some distribution centre in my province where I can pick it up manually? Should I just make another order from DMC and have it shipped to a home address? Can I redirect the package while it's shipping? Should I say something to DMC? Would it make sense to wait out the strike? Am I asking too many questions? Any help would be appreciated, even if it's just something like "oh wow that sucks."

I just made an order from his site, no different from ordering to any other country. Unfortunately I can't really help since the website I used got shut down (more info here), but if you're able to find his new site you should be able to get it shipped to Canada without too much trouble.

I can't really say, sorry. I haven't really been following the situation since I got my SN, so I can't give any credible advice either way. The fact that welfare checks in Canada seem to be so rare is encouraging, though.

Better to do it sooner than later imo, DMC won't be around forever
