While researching my ctb way I noticed how unathestic it is in some police photos (ugly plastic bag over head).

I get it once we are gone it doesn't really matter but I would prefer if my loved ones (or anyone) that sees my dead photos isn't staring at some brused corpe with a plastic bag on its head. I am trying to think how to make my death more Kino. I am thinking (as I get closer to the act) of tattooing my body with some cool art and giving what I'll wear to the occasion some thought.

Who gives a shit? You'll be dead. Hell, most deaths don't look aesthetic and most people are going to be too focused on the fact that you are dead to give a shit about how hot you look. The only people who are going to give a shit about that kind of stuff are weirdo perverts.

I disagree but I think it is interesting to get the other perspective on this. If I can choose a dignified death in my own terms includes it aesthetic.

I dont think this is a weird desire.

It is though. You are putting a bunch of emphasis on something that doesn't really matter since you are going to die. It's not like you'll be able to look back and think "Man, if only I wore that nice dress and put on some makeup before dying" because you'll be dead. Most people aren't even going to care about your looks because they'll be too focused on the dead body in front of them.

I'd love for my corpse to be 'beautiful', but it's impossible. The only thing I can do is cover my body as much as possible.

After all, even the deceased look bad at funerals, even though their bodies have been "cosmetically enhanced."

I think the trauma on my family would be far from aesthetic as it is, don't find much of a point to throw some glitter over it.

I do however admit to the recurring idea of dying "pretty", or at least be remembered as such. But that's just morbid vanity. So yeah in a way I kinda get it.
But I really wouldn't want my loved ones to find my body with roses and in a pose and shit and think "you idiot, you had no consideration for the pain you would cause us and yet you worried about putting on a fruity act death bed" or something like that. Like I think It would give the wrong impression and may understate my concern for them in their eyes.
So no I'd rather not risk they think that.

Lol, humans are irrational creatures. There are a lot of illogical things we care about.

Why do some people, for example, care for their deaths to be as private as possible? It shouldnt matter since you died and whether your death appears on the news or not you will be long gone. But some people still care about this sorts of things.

Same exact instinct at play.

In the grand scheme of things it doesnt matter of course but when I picture in my minds eye an ugly unaesthetic death I get a little sad. It would be one more indignity before leaving this world.

Yes. I also looked at scene photos and various suicides that were filmed in my research. The worst one was a young Asian woman maybe mid 20's that jumped from a building and presumably landed on her face/head. Scratched that along with train jumping off the list.

The most aesthetic one I saw was a 20-something latina that did a partial hanging. The scene was a little messy with beer cans around but her death posture was perfect as weird as that is to say. It looked like a freeze frame in a dramatic performative dance with her long brown hair draped over her.

In the documentary about Golden Gate jumpers one guy did a beautiful backwards swan dive off the rail. I guess that's more about the look of the act itself rather than the result. In the same vein I also find self-immolators fascinating in their dramatic effect.

I like the idea of leaving a mysterious skeleton like Chester Copperpot in the Goonies or the ones Indiana Jones runs into. There was a 4chan greentext where some guy said there was a bullet hole ridden Volkswagen bug in the middle of the woods with a skeleton in it overgrown with plants and vines. They named him "Tim" as a sort of mascot and he ended the story by saying "The most beautiful funeral shroud is a layer of new life". It would be cool to die off the beaten path and leave a little treasure map for whoever finds the corpse.

I hope I don't sound too macabre...I promise I'm not that much of a freak :D

I don't get what is so ugly in a plastic bag. Would an open face with cyanosis look much better? Aesthetics is a subjective thing; what seems "beautiful" to you may look "ugly" for others and vice versa.

Some people, including myself, have an aversion towards any tattoos regardless of what is pictured on them. This is a good example of controversial aesthetics with polar views about it amongst people.

I can see why people might prioritize looking nice, though honestly, I couldn't care less as long as the end result is that I have passed away.

I get you want to come across as all cool and nihilistic, but this seems like a perfectly normal, small thing that people get sentimental over because their dead body will be their body, which they spent their entire life within. There are other things that are more worth worrying about than another person's sentimentalities towards dying. It's like someone having the age-old, simple preference of being buried or cremated -- if it would make my father a little more comfortable with aging and dying, why not bury him next to my late grandparents when the time comes?

I wouldn't care about my death "being beautiful" personally, but I certainly wouldn't want to be photographed and my dead body posted online in a medical journal. I put in my last note a desire not to be photographed because it simply gave me more peace of mind. The thought makes socially-withdrawn me uncomfortable even without a "purpose." Does it seriously harm you for a person to feel these feelings to themselves without immediate utility? If you wanna get "scientific" about it, we were hardwired to care about our bodies for the purpose of survival and procreation, after all. Some people have harmless personal hangups that extend beyond cold scientific rationalism and some people care about how they will be remembered. Not everyone is a nihilistic, apathetic, front-page-of-Reddit, 6000-karma-opinion-haver like you.

Ideally I would want for my body to never be found so I don't care how it looks like. I'd like to do it deep in a forest and maybe animals would eat my corpse before anyone could find it. If someone does I don't really care what they see honestly, and I can't decide whether I would really care how it looks like if I expected my family members to find me. Also "aesthetic" is a big word, I definitely wouldn't make it "aesthetic", just less ugly.

For myself, I don't really care. My main concern is inadvertently traumatizing some poor person who might accidentally stumble on what I leave behind when I do CTB.

I'm not trying to make any grand statements or anything. I just wanna make sure I leave this world with as little fuss as possible when it's finally time.

I don't want it to be aesthetic, I hate the romatization of suicide and depression ect ,however If I had to choose ,I would like to not be looking disgusting after I die , for example (I'm not sure but I think that) dying in water would make my body look very bloated really fast ,ect..
Even if nobody finds my body I'd like to die in a different way. The best ways to me would either be mummification or being composted.

I would be nice, but I care more about how easy it will be to deal with my body. Things like having my Id somewhere visible, making it easy to cut off the rope, being close to a road, ...

I plan on taking measures to make it as easy to clean as possible. Gun is preferred but messy while partial is neater but more work to pull off. I've heard that once the body is gone it's up to the owner of the property to clean up, one guy in detroit started a business doing just that and gave cops his cards to hand out, was an interesting show and really put that bug in my ctb plans. My plan is to have body tsken out and just roll up the sheets and stuff and just dump it.

I wish that it is aesthetic. But it won't be. I wish it would be like in the movies when someone falls off a building and lands on their back while looking all whimsical and shit. But that's fantasy.

Pistol to the head in a bathtub while wearing a business suit is a vibe.

But in all seriousness I will likely ctb in my bed unconscious.

ehh, i'm more concerned with practicality. i'm looking to do my dying in a hotel bathroom, both for the relative ease of cleanup, and for the extra door of separation (to which i'll affix a note warning of my body within). my chosen method should not, i hope, make me look terribly garish, though... provided i am found within 24 hours.

my last days shall absolutely be aesthetic, though! i'm going to live it up -- eat good food, listen to good music, watch good movies. can't wait. :)

I would want a asthetic death in the sense that I pass away in a beautiful place, or go out a beautifual way; since most of my suicidal ideation is passive anyways.

Not necessarily aesthetic but I do want to look peaceful. I want to be calm and relaxed during my death and the best way for me to do that is to create a calm atmosphere which may inadvertently make the scene look 'aesthetic'. A dead body is a dead body, there's no way to spin that bit.

Not aesthetically pleasing exactly. It's not like I bothered that much in life! Still, I hope my corpse isn't too distressing or messy to clear up.

It's highly unlikely, but I would like my death to be quaint. Laying in bed with my hair unfurled around my head, bedecked with flowers, wearing a mellow white dress, like a youthful girl laying serenely in a field. It's a naive wish.
