• Hey Guest,

As you know, censorship around the world has been ramping up at an alarming pace. The UK and OFCOM has singled out this community and have been focusing its censorship efforts here. It takes a good amount of resources to maintain the infrastructure for our community and to resist this censorship. We would appreciate any and all donations.

oh wow, don't usually hear films from the 80s mentioned much! i've never seen that but always meant to.

my fav is prob As Above, So Below or Lights Out. As Above is sooooo entertaining, gr8 story + ending. Lights Out was terrifying to me bc im still scared of the dark, lol.

love AASB, the concept of "hell" always makes for good horror movie material, that movie doesn't get the love it deserves :/

Martyrs but I'm aware it's a very extreme film in terms of violence. I find it thought provoking.

Such a great film! The effects were really something else.

Ever watch Eraserhead? It's from around the same era and it's pretty good too.

Not a big horror fan but The Exorcist.... 😱
Before my time and I watched as an adult. STILL Scary!!!! Maybe it's cuz I don't watch many horror movies.
Watched it once and I own the DVD. 😉

Another vote for Martyrs, although it's weird to call it "my favorite", because I didn't have fun watching the movie. It's not something you put on for a good time or happily rewatch(unless you enjoy torture, although I think people who call this movie torture porn are just confused). I've only seen it once and don't plan to rewatch it before dying.

That said, it struck me harder than any other movie I've ever seen. It was uncanny. I couldn't stop thinking about it. It was like... they turned the essence of what this world is into a movie. To me it represents our reality and how power works, how things are done in secret for malevolent and entitled aims, all while being ultimately psychotic and psychopathic.

Martyrs is how we treat farm animals, it is the evil of the Spanish Inquisition, it's the brutality of drug cartel torture, it's the nepotism of global elitism.

It's just the perfect sublimation of our world.

Definitely agree with 1408 and As Above So Below- both are so good

I really loved the Woman in Black, too

As for shows (I know this is for movies but I don't think anyone will mind), the first few seasons of American Horror Story were great, and damn near everything Mike Flannigan has made.

The original Dawn of the Dead from 1978 is just such a classic. The iconic setting, and the loveable characters make me love it.
Day of the Dead is still great, but I personally was terrified to re-watch it as a kid because of the absolute fucking brutal deaths of the soldiers towards
the end of the film. I love brutal special effects and stuff but that scene they went completely overboard. I swear the screams of those characters is still engraved in my mind.

ah yes, the Warhammer 40k prequel.
Haha, I do hear that a lot, but I barely know anything about Warhammer. I should probably get into it.

Just watched The Mist. My kind of movie. May be relevant to some here.
