Hi everyone

I watched this video about study's that have been done on dying and what it feels like.

It could help overcome your fear of dying and the process towards it. So I thought I'd share.

Thank you for this. A lot of debates going around here of the death rattle, why it happens and if you can feel it, this can shade some light in to the whole process.

Cheers to feeling relaxed! 🍻

As far as many of the things he talks about, these mostly relate to a more natural dying process. A death rattle, the loss of hunger, the state of intense relaxation and confusion, those are all parts of a natural dying process. Most suicide methods are going to cause an entirely different process of dying. Hanging, jumping, gun shots, all of the faster methods will obviously skip several steps. You're there, then you're gone. Slower methods such as overdose or SN will cause their own set of dying symptoms related to the signs of whatever substance you are overdosing on. The death rattle is not going to be present in a suicide death unless you somehow manage to pull off dehydration, which is nearly impossible to do. Several methods could potentially lead to other abnormal breathing patterns, most notably agonal breathing, but similar to the death rattle, you most likely won't be conscious when you reach that state depending on the method. Ultimately it's hard to know what will happen as far as out of body experiences or memory recall until you're actually going, but the physiological process will be unique to each method.

Im aware that this is for natural causes.

But I thought it could help for some on here because the thought that it could be similar to this eases a lot of anxiety. At least for me. Before it was all 1 big question mark and now I do know a bit more of what dying is like or what it has been like for others.

I know it could be different for me when taking SN etc but at least I have a little bit of info about dying.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to discredit this video or say it wasn't helpful. I know that everyone here is looking to ease their anxiety about death. I just wanted to clarify because I know as stated above a lot of people worry about things like the death rattle. I wasn't trying to say the video was incorrect or wrong.

The only issue with this video is it assumes the process of dying is the only thing you'll experience but what if someone also has a health issue or other issues causing them pain on the side. That's the reason people want to CTB.

This video is referring to a more natural dying process related to age or disease. Often times when a person is dying naturally they slowly start to drift out of consciousness and their sensations decrease. If someone is dying of terminal disease, often times they will be placed on hospice and given around the clock pain medication while the dying process is occurring. This video is not referring to the death process related to suicide, accident, or other non-natural causes of death, though I'm sure some of the principles do still apply.

But doesn't the process of dying mean your body and organs not functioning properly and gradually shutting down? No matter the case? That process by it self is painful and usually not quite right up until the moment of death, if you happen to witness people dying of old age. That is where the peacefulness and calm relaxation is mentioned around the last minutes to death.
