All the old justifications for it have all been proven unnecessary and now the practice just carries on like a zombie, the fact that FGM is worse is something I've heard as an.... actual defense of MGM?? I'm completely sympathetic, the discovery of circumcision was a devastating trauma from which I have never recovered. Are you actually Japanese? I understand that circumcision happens a lot there, as also in China, and in Korea the majority of males are cut (though it's been years since I was researching all this). No, just learning to read Japanese. Luckily where I'm from it's seldom done, but MGM just falling out of practice isn't good enough, it should be outright criminalized.
